Finally out there again!

So after itching to get out there after pausing due to illness I’m on the Bridge!

I decided a really slow run after 12 days off would be the way to go.

Start running and I’m thinking to myself why did I want to be doing this? Okay maybe I’ll start with the 2.5k today. Why haven’t I hit 1k yet?

Checks watch, oh 1.5k this isn’t so bad. Stay slow, breathing is good, heart at 135. I can do this.

A very slow and enjoyable 5k (45+ mins) and aiming for that distant 10k!

12 weeks ago I wasn’t running at all!

Yay! I'm itching to get out again too. Trying to be sensible.... I'm so glad it went well for you.

It’s horrible being stuck walking and I still can’t workout properly yet, no strength and restricted stretches but GP said I should do what I can and the running doesn’t seem to exacerbate it so I’m lucky. Miss my daily stretch routine though.😍 wishing you a swift recovery!

Great 5k for your return run today, bet you are glad you didn’t stop at 2 1/2 taking things slow after injury is very sensible and good practice for each new longer run that you attempt. happy running 🤗

Thank you 😊

Well done HappyNoodle and welcome to the bridge. Glad to hear you’re recovered and ready to go, so right to take it slow until you’re back in the swing, I’m learning slow and steady is what will get us to the magic 10 k and beyond 🤗

It’s something about the ‘running’ that makes you feel like you need to go fast but you don’t and it’s better not to.

Welcome over the bridge HappyNoodle and on your recovery from injury too. Well done on your 5k today, slow and steady is good. I embraced my inner-snail a while ago and she and I get on pretty well 🐌🏃‍♀️and pretty much get to where we want to go. 😊

I am learning to embrace the snail I will ‘run’ one day but for now I’ll just keep running 🏃🏻‍♀️

Good to see you stepping onto the Bridge! That was a great run - particularly when you have just recovered.
