Just a little 5k

That brought my months total to just over 46k so far. My aim is 81.5k (50 miles)for the month so not too far behind. I was hoping this would have been another 10k like Sunday’s run but today just wasn’t happening. I’ve never been so relieved to see my watch click over to 5k.

Lack of sleep gave me really heavy tired legs. Shame really as it was my ideal running conditions this morning - cool and slightly damp. But even though I picked a nice flat easy route it was a struggle most of the way.

I’d had a banana before I left and half a cup of coffee but I had little to no energy. I ran around the outside of the town and then back through the little cut through and then across the Industrial Estate, back along the riverbank under the New Bridge towards the Old Bridge and then back through the other side of town towards home. When my watch clicked over to 5k I heaved a sigh of relief and slowed to a walk. My breathing was fine but my legs!!!!!!

And the strange thing is that, after I’d come home and eaten, I collected my son and drove to the next town and went for a 5k walk to the local Salt Marshes and my legs were fine. So annoying!!! Maybe I need to eat before I run?? I never have before apart from a banana But maybe I ought to ??

And we did see a pair of swans, the male swimming up and down on watch and the female was just a head sticking up from the rushes so probably on a nest so that was cool.

Brilliant effort, may not have been 10k but after a bad night you still managed 5k to add to your monthly total. Happy running 🤗

Another 5k to add to that impressive total. I actually laughed when you responded to Grannyhugs there saying how tired you were - and now off to pilates :)

Haha yeah that’s me.

It’s an Online session which she records and uploads to her Your Dream Body website and then I can access it whenever I want ( which is just as well as I fell asleep and missed it live). 🤣

I pay for the Thursday night session and get the Tuesday one free. And access to all the previous ones in the website.

You got out and ran a 5k even when you didn't have the best nights sleep which is great . Beautiful photo 😊😊

Maybe just lack of sleep? . . . that certainly does it for me, everything is a major effort if I have a bad night 😒

Yup. I’ve had issues with my hip for about a year now, greater trachanter pain syndrome or bursitis. It doesn’t stop me running but it’s uncomfortable when I sit and very much so when I lie on my left side at night. Unfortunately at night I tend to roll about in my sleep and the pain and tingling down the outer side of my leg wakes me, several times a night

I’ve had sports massages, Rested for 3 months when I was ill in the autumn/ winter of last year, had chiropractic adjustments, done loads of stretches and Pilates, rubbed heat cream in, taken pain meds...

finally this morning I rang my dr again ( we have spoken about it on and off over the last year) and she is sending me for physio assessment and if he doesn’t think he can help then steroid injection in the site of the pain.
