First did the 8 weeks 60 mins time, then I planned to build myself up to do 10k. Now 2 weeks later have done it nice and easy, having to push a couple of times as it was quite humid.
Now tired but over the moon. I suppose not bad for 77.

Thanks. Don't know what's next. I was planning to do the GNR5K but that's cancelled. I'll take it easy for a while then decide what to do next.3ππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
That's brilliant! My son (27) who runs, said he saw 'two old guys' running like they were marathon runners this morning! π Respect from this 60 year old!
Fabulous run and huge congrats to you β€οΈπππ₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³. Such a perfect moment in time when you hit that 10k and realise just how far you can run and how much you have achieved and all that hard work was so worth it.
Hoped to have done a slightly quicker time, but kept pace nice and steady as it was humid then cooled near the end so speeded up. Otherwise condition were perfect.
Did about a years consolidation before deciding to do jujus plan, it works. Decided to do the time (60mins) first, then an easy 2 weeks, then increased and did 10k on my third run. Watched the weather forecast and picked Sat. Ideal but a bit humid so just kept a nice steady pace, finishing strongly.
Best of luck and stay injury free.
What a fantastic achievement! I ran my first 5k this week, 3 months after graduating C25k with a spell on the IC in between. Iβm gradually working my way through a plan shared by roseabi that is preparing me for the timed version of the 10k plan, so it was interesting for me to read your post about you then working on your 10k. π
I think some go straight for the 10k. I was dubious about that. C25k in 9 weeks but 10k in 8weeks(?).
I consolidated for a year due to some injuries and a couple of falls. It took 5 months to get over that, so just kept my runs nice and steady, mixing distance and routes all the time. Distances 3s,4s, and 5s.
I did jujus 60min plan first then 2 weeks easy then 3rd build-up for the 10k.
