Morning everyone and hope you’ve all had a great runny week. Weather down south has been boiling and mad busy with work as we were overwhelmed with visitors. I am blessed our local public services staff are so fabulous and worked amazingly hard and long hours to clear up beaches and deal with so many people and provide the care and help lots of them needed ❤️. Determined to hit that 10k run after all this time and being so close last weekend so much so I ran 11k just to make sure. Have that glowy feeling and sense of ‘ I am a runner’ back which is lovely. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Take care all.

Well done on smashing the 10K 😊

Thank you... I must admit I was on a mission today after last weeks faff and not being able to read the distance on my watch... 🤪

Yayayayay Wimborne, what fantastic news! You’re back good and proper! ❤️ Isn’t it fantastic that we have running to turn through during this period?

And what a relief that insane heat has left us temporarily at least. I love the sun and heat - but for running purposes it’s grey, cool and drizzly for me all the way! 😅

Thanks Cheeky and running is mindfulness for those of us who can never sit still 😂. I have never been so glad to see cloud and rain these last few days. Had to get up in the middle of the night Wednesday to run ( well 6am to be fair) and god I am not a early morning runner. Love evening runs and 9.00 am runs but anything earlier than that just isn’t my thing... but if that heat comes back it will be more 6am trotting for me to escape that heat.

Thanks BBR ... it’s been 15 months since I last ran 10k... talk about a slow comeback 😂

I’m so very pleased for you Wimborne- you had a really bad injury and it’s taken a lot of patience, guts and determination to get back To where you are today. 11k - whoop whoop!

Much cooler today than those mad temperatures in the week. Southsea wasn’t quite as overwhelmed by long distance visitors as Bournemouth but we have enough home grown problems , and police issued dispersal orders along our beaches and the common Because of the number of young people meeting together, drinking, fighting etc. The council staff and police are doing the best they can and facing a lot of abuse.

Thanks Dexy 😃. It makes me so sad to see how the world is waking up from lockdown and the increase in problems for so many areas 😞. I am patiently waiting for Wales to be open now 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and sadly Swansea and Gower coast having similar challenges too. Happy running this week Dexy and so pleased you got the non stop run all done. Here’s to determination and a bit of stubbornness thrown in too 😊

Thanks. You must be itching to see family back home. I hope it’s soon. I think Wales was sensible with restricting travel but maybe five miles was a bit too short.

Same here Dexy. The Rec has seen a few fights and police interventions this week. The man who looks after the swans was assaulted as well. Any beauty spot seems to bring out the worst in people. The council are doing an amazing job clearing up the mess that is left behind, as ever they usually do but under extra pressure now.

You have both done brilliantly and if there were a medal for stubbornness and determination, I think you'd have to share it!

Thanks TailChaser, but my mere 11 weeks on the IC is nothing to what Wimborne went through. I must give credit to my physio who gave me all the right exercises and resisted my urge to get running earlier.

I do believe that some people have lost those boundaries of what’s right and wrong, good manners etc. We have seen the best and worst of people during this crisis.

You are right there Dexy. I think some of it is ‘the devil makes work for idle hands’.

Ok, Wimborne gets gold, you get silver! You have both done really well though 😊

Excited is an understatement Sandie as I waved my arms around when my watch beeped at 10k 🤪. God knows what people thought I was doing but often find myself arm dancing when I run 😂

Woot! We’re all afraid of the IC. Worried we can’t make it back. So glad you proved our fears baseless.

Well done on getting past the 10k mark again. I’m also down south, and it’s so much nicer now it’s cooled down a bit.

Happy running.
