Hi all, it's been a while since I posted but I haven't stopped running (although work demands have cut me back a bit). I actually ran 10k a while ago but didn't get round to posting anything, however yesterday I did the Oxford Town & Gown 10k - my first race - so I figured I should come and share with you all as it's thanks to C25K that I was able to do the race and raise over Β£300 for Muscular Dystrophy UK in the process.
It was a beautiful race through the city in gorgeous sunny weather (a bit warmer than I would have wanted but lovely) and a great thing to experience.
I managed a time of 1 hour 3 minutes, which I was pleased with as I'm still secretly amazed I can do this running thing at all!

I'm going to embarrass you again by saying how proud i am of you. your time is brilliant. you've only been running since last autumn. You will get faster, wait and see. i don't think anyone did it in much under 50 minutes, judging by the announcements, and that includes young blokes in heavy training running for their colleges xxx
Still, your speed will improve. Those speedy ones will have been in training for months and running since school. Your time was pretty darned good, and especially for how short a time you've been running.
Congratulations on a great run. You have me investigating the cambridge one hehe I have a HM on the 7th of Oct, so the T&G on the 21st of Oct seems doable
