The power of a good run...πŸ’•πŸ’ͺ

It's tough for all of us in different ways at the moment, isn't it? I know I am luckier than many and so grateful for that but yesterday afternoon (having looked at the news😱) I had one of those moments where you just start to feel it all closing in on you a bit...πŸ™

Anyway, being a "runner"😊 πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈI did what runners do and donned my trusty Hoka running shoes and headed off to the local trails and bridleways. I've been keeping my runs a bit shorter recently due to a niggly knee but today I was back to a favourite 10k route. It turned out to be just the thing I needed. Beautiful woody trails, fields and farm tracks - this was one of the special runs where I found my happy place (and happy pace!πŸ‘) and returned home feeling so much stronger. Thank you running - you saved me again!πŸ™ πŸ™‚x

It’s funny the way things can hit you unexpectedly, but sounds like you had a great run. Equilibrium restored πŸ˜ƒ

Watching the news, which I do too often, causes me huge frustration. Coronavirus is testing the constitutional systems worldwide to breaking point, and generating anxiety and sense of loss in us all. No wonder that we find solace and release in doing something special over which we some semblance of control. Pleased for you Sandra; sounds perfect.πŸ™‚

I’ve given up watching the news BC because I found myself constantly shouting at the tv πŸ™„ and just read online news now, that way I can chose what I read and when.... I don’t shout nearly so often...🀣

People having to make decisions for which, in many cases, they are neither trained nor qualified and experts having their capabilities stretched to the limits with so much at stake...no wonder we need to run IP! Really difficult for everyone involved.

I know but sometimes common sense is all it takes ..... πŸ€”

The trouble with reading or watching the news is that there really isn't much news day on day.

I feel as though we are just in limbo, no one really knows what to do for the best.

We are lucky that we have been able to continue to run or walk every day, we have a garden.

The takeaways started to open so that was a treat - I was ridiculously excited when the pizza was delivered!

I was lucky enough to get a slot at a nearby National Trust park so we took our van to give it a decent run (getting bored with Morrisons!) and we had a picnic in the carpark (in the van) before a nice walk in the grounds.

And we have finally opened the first tin of the paint we bought just before lockdown in anticipation of being bored. The bathroom is nearly finished. Bedroom next.

All so true - so many opposing views on the right way to do things too! πŸ˜«πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I couldn’t get a NT slot so we took our van to a country park and sat on our camping chairs for a picnic.

Mr Sandie has done the painting he’s been threatening to do since September and my high point was wandering round Dunelm yesterday choosing stuff to replace the stuff that was stolen in France - nice new kitchen stuff 😊

It is amazing the things we are getting excited about as we get a bit more freedom.

Sounds wonderful Sandra πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‚ just what was needed. I always think that once we reach a 5K and then 10K again then we’re well on the road again.

I feel your joy ☺️ x

Lovely post Sandraj39 We are indeed blessed to be able to shed some of the worries of the world when we go out for a run. It doesn't matter what pace or how far we go, sometimes just the act of running itself is enough. Take care of your knee and enjoy your running!

I think we all get those moments when we can let things creep up on us and like you I'm so grateful for being able to run. It gives us a so much more positive outlook . Heres to many more happy runs πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

Running can be the right medicine, the right mindfulness, the right recharge and the right escape. I'm so glad that you had a good run (and time too) there's things we can control in life and so much we can't. You did your bit by running. Keep going and keep smiling 😁

Sounds good. I’m getting some Hoka for my birthday I hope they are okay as cannot try them on and I have wide feet. If not I’ll have to exchange.

Wishing you many more happy runs
