Recently I decided to become a side by side telephone volunteer for the Alzheimer's Society. To mark this I thought I'd order a running top and it has arrived! Looks natty as my Nan used to say!

New Running Shirt
I don't think it looks natty at all GTFC, it looks very smart, I am sure it will look really nice on you when you are running, that is a great job you are doing, being a telephone volunteer for the Alzheimer Society, it's now over ten years since my wife died of early Alzheimer, I am not sure what she would have thought of me now that I have taken up running, she used to officiate at junior athletic events, I remember on my 40th birthday going to one of those events, they did not have anyone to ring the last lap bell, so they asked me to do that, it was a great day, the only problem was on one race, the 3000 metres when there was a lot of runners lapping each other, I had to ring that bell several times to let the runners know that it was their final lap.
What a lovely story! Thank you. Natty means smart and fashionable so I'm buzzing with it.
What a great thing to do GTFC by giving your time to the Alzheimer's society.
Cracking tshirtπππββοΈπββοΈ
It's a belter ππ didn't get a vest, don't have the arms for it and I'm only a casual runner πππ
Oh lovely, what a great thing to do! I did a charity run for AS a couple of years ago, and was given a couple of those t-shirts. I also bought myself a running vest from their web shop and I still cheekily wear it sometimes, although I'm not raising money for them anymore - it's just the best running top I have π
They are great for running. The other one I have is Prostate Cancer. Even by running in it it's raising awareness π keep putting it on!
As GTFC said - keep wearing it! I have an Alzheimer's Research t-shirt and often get hellos or comments from passers-by when I wear it. It's a good reminder that charities desperately need help too in these difficult times. X
OK! πππ
Funny story, I was out for a run once in my AS vest, and a perfect stranger said to me "Morning, Abi!" I was a bit freaked out for a second, until I remembered that I'd had my name put on my vest π
π€£π My name isn't on my t-shirt but the writing is right across my chest so I do find people staring at that region - hilarious to me as there aren't many people on my balcony as the French would say!!π
πππππ Never heard that saying but it's s hilarious! You are ace.

Oh nice one GTFC, I really must get one of those, I'm surprised I didn't realise they had branded running shirts in their online shop!
How do the sizes go? As in do they come up a bit small (so best order next size up to usual) or are they just right?
Cheers,
Brian.
Ooh. I just order medium and it's fine for me. I find the sizing fine and I did with my Prostate Cancer one, both are medium. I'd like a Barnardo's one too but they don't seem to sell them!
Brilliant shirt and a fantastic cause to work for. π€
What a fine thing to do, such a worthy charity. Good for you!
My dad died with dementia so this is a cause close to my heart. Iβve got the vest and run in it regularly, theyβre a great fit and quite long so no rolling up π
Happy running in it ππ
A great shirt for a great cause. Well done.
Great job - great looking shirt too! Well done.ππ
Well done you, a fantastic cause and I'm sure you'll look and feel fab running in your new shirt
I love it GTFC! β€οΈ I have the same shirt as I raised money for the Alzheimerβs Society when I ran the (virtual) Bath HM. I ironed on the words βFor Mumβ to make it extra poignant as I lost her last October. π
Itβs a fantastic cause and it will inspire your running. πππ
Oh how lovely of you. I bet it gave you the extra push too. β€
πππ
Fab looking top and hats off to you for giving your time to such a worthy cause. The helpline and online forum were brilliant when I turned to them often throughout my mum's battle with Alzheimer's. I did the 100k in 6 months fundraiser for Alzheimer's Research UK when I'd just finished C25K 3 years ago so I was given a t-shirt. I still wear it.
Charities are going to suffer tremendously with Brexit & Covid - they need all the support and awareness we can muster. Wear it and run with pride! πππ
Thank you so much.i really will. I work for Barnardo's and we have still been able to support those children in need, mainly virtually but we are also supporting adults too although many staff have been furloughed. My area is lottery funded until next July so we have been able to keep going every day. When I saw the ad for AS I jumped at the chance to be able to befriend people and ring them every week in the evenings when I'm home from work.
I am currently running in one of those shirts as I am running 26 x 10ks to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. I have done 17 so far. The shirt is surprisingly comfortable and cooling, even in the hot weather. Well done on your volunteering π
That is absolutely fantastic! Gosh, well done you! Really amazing. Always reminds me how many wonderful people are out there.
Great T-shirt for a great cause π
Very 'natty' indeed Hidden ...what a lovely thing you've volunteered to do π
Thatβs such a good thing to do, thank you for your dedication and your shirt is very natty. Be proud
