My This Girl Runs t-shirt arrived yesterday following the May challenge (I said I’d do 100k and actually did 161k split between 80k runs and 81k walks!). I had to try it out and around 9.45 the rain eased to a light drizzle so I headed off to do my June 10k. A nice comfortable run completed in 1:04:04, which seems to be pretty much the time I am stuck at. If I am going to make that sub 60 I’m going to have to start thinking about some new tactics I think. The highlight of my run though was running past our village primary school to the sound of happy, excited children in the playground and seeing them kicking balls, skipping, hula hooping 😊 Happy running VRBs 🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️

Do we get a piccy?
How do you add a piccy to a reply? 🤷♀️
You can edit your post to add a piccy I think Sandie. Your 10k time sounds great to me. 😉
Thanks Dexy. Lockdown hair too 😂
Oh yes! I have been trimming my fringe during lockdown- my hairdresser will have her work cut out when we all go back . 💇🏼♀️
Nice Sandie. I’ll pop over to Strava for a gander in a minute! You’re clocking up great running/walking mileage and definitely earned that shirt. 😘🏃♀️🎉👍
Very respectable time Sandie. I think that sub 60 will come on one of those runs where you look at your watch with 2k left to go and think "this is on" and just go for it flat out. You will do it though, of that I am certain.
Dog walking on the beach for us today for the first time in weeks. Not many people about, but there were little groups of kids plodging through puddles and enjoying each other's company. Almost like normal! Molly enjoyed it anyway.
Sounds like a lovely run Sandie! And a lovely pic too - I now have to tie my hair back in a ponytail when I go for a run and it’s been many years since I was able to do that!
Very nice t shirt and it won’t be long before you can get your hair cut. I recommend thinning scissors as a fairly safe method of debulking hair ahead of that big day. I am now on my second lockdown home cut, even trusting Mr C to tidy up the back.
Seeing New Zealand emerge from COVID gives hope of eventual normality for all of us and our hairdressers (and parkrun).
Great run for you today and I love the tshirt 🏃♀️🏃♀️
You are doing amazingly well Sandra! I’ve just lurched from too hot to run, to too wet to run 😂 Guess I’ll be back to C25K early weeks if I leave it much longer! Been out on bike but roads getting busier 😘
That top looks the business. Love it. Also your time is ace. You are so nearly there! It will come no doubt. Do you have a voice that tells you every km at all? Sometimes at each km point I run fast for 20 paces then next km 30 paces an so on up to 100 paces then back to normal for the remainder.
My tactic for a sub-hour 10k was to run some longer distances, eventually ending up with 10 miles. That happened on 9 Oct last year and I did my best 10k time (59.29) on the 23rd. Mind you , I haven't managed a sub-60 again since!😀
Love the new t-shirt, fab colour! And that sounds like a very acceptable 10k time to me, good luck on the tactic finding 👍
Lovely t-shirt and lovely pic too! Your time is fab! I will be well chuffed to get my time to that. At the minute I’m still stuck at 1.27.49. We’ll done you !👏👏👍🌺🌸🌼🏃♀️
That’s a lovely t shirt Sandy- and by your mileage you certainly deserve it!! I was also admiring your hair- it’s looks great!! My daughter took a bit off mine with the dog grooming scissors😂😂😂😂
I think it’s seriously impressive running. To get within 5 minutes of a sub 60 10km is a fantastic achievement. It has to be your goal Sandie 💪 Well done 👏👏👏
Sounds like a great run, with happy bits 👍 Nice t. Good excuse for a run, to show it off 👚
Love the t-shirt, I do like the logo...also like your hair like that, the fringe may be starting to drive you mad but it looks cool 😊
Lovely Pic and Lovely T-Shirt Sandie. Great running too. That is fantastic. I'm sure you'll get your sub 1 hour 10K some day soon. You are so close and running at a great pace. I am a long way off it now, but 18 months ago when training to chase down my parkrun PB I found that speed training for 5K married very well with 10K. Obviously I could not maintain a 5K pace for 10K, but by getting below 28 mins for 5K i could maintain a 6 min/km pace for 10K. I know you'll do it. Great running and well done. I wish I could run as fast as you.
