Just remembered why I don’t run in the evening

So I usually run on alternate days but I seem to have hit a mental block. After the joy of finally getting back to 10k my next run I tried without music and hated it. And struggled to finish 5k and then I would normally have run yesterday morning but had very little sleep - due to courting tomcats at the end of the street. So decided to give myself another days rest and run this morning. Then I woke this morning with headache and dodgy tummy so thought I’d wait till tomorrow.

I went for a walk, had a nap after lunch and just chilled mainly.

P

But then I looked at the forecast and it’s really windy again tomorrow morning, and the wind has dropped here this evening .... so I thought why not? It was at least 4 hours since I’d eaten so I thought I was ok. But I burped all the way round, thought I was going to be sick several times and my legs were like lead.

I run so much better on an empty stomach (or just a banana) but I battled on and managed to run 5k albeit it took me 45 minutes!!!!

So again, put it behind me and move on. And on Sunday I will run in the morning- hopefully after a good nights sleep. And 5k is 5k after all. 😁😁

Each run is a piece in the jigsaw and this is another piece. Even with all the little things going on you still went. Well done. 5k is most definitely worth it!

That's interesting you say you run on an empty stomach - i crash if i run empty. Well its definitely about learning what suits isn't it? Good for you battling on though.

Thanks. I have a hiatus hernia and I think that’s half my problem if I’ve eaten. I find the same if I eat before Pilates

5k is definitely 5k LL, and the gremlins were kept at bay. So definitely a win! 😀👏🏃‍♀️👍

I’m with you - a morning runner with nothing to eat, or maybe a banana. 🍌

Glad I went yesterday now though when I listen to that wind howling outside. Its pushed my black bin right down the garden. ☹️

I ran yesterday in case I decided not to brave the wind today - but my inner running nerd wouldn’t let me not go out and I’ve just done my 5k! What is it with me? I had a ready made excuse for a lie-in! 🤓 😅💨💙😍🐾

Enjoy your sensible rest day! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
