Funny thing, this running 🤣

Went out today to run a route I have done quite a few times and my legs just wouldn't work properly, they were so tired. I slept okay , I'm eating well and most importantly I always keep well hydrated . But todays run was more of a run walk . I was a bit mad at the time but now I'm just putting it down to 'one of those runs' with no explanation of why it was a bit rubbish.

Oh well next run day is Wednesday we will see how that goes.

Hope you're all still enjoying the sunny weather 🌞🌞🌞

I've had a few runs like this and not really been able to put my finger on why I just don't have the fuel in the tank to complete the run, sometimes even half a run.

I wish I could suggest something, but I guess it's just a combination of things that are behind the scenes.

I second that......my head keeps giving up. It’s so frustrating but like you put it down to all the subconscious stuff going on

DITTO! Must be the sunshine! My new Hoka One One's might turn up tomorrow so I'll probably run late tomorrow! Stay well!

Hello Enxo, how are you? New shoes, you'll have to remember to post a photo 😊👍

In good spirits thanks! New shoes...yep...tried some Asics Kayanos last month but sent them back as I thought the difference between them and my old asics wasn't great enough to warrant the price tag. Still trying to get my refund though. In the meantime I've read good things about Gaviota 2s (for us heavy guys) and they were 30 quid cheaper so I'm going to give them a spin, hopefully tomorrow. I'll defo post a pic as they are rather tasty looking!

Running 5k at the moment but I have to leave it till late in the evening as its cooler and there are a few less tourists about! Congrats on the HM! Really well done!

I think that just happens sometimes, I get that a lot, and I have learnt to adjust plans according to how I am feeling. Hopefully the next run will be better :)

Perhaps you are over doing it a bit, you did run 143 kilometers in May including 10 miles and that great Half Marathon and several 10K's, you also ran a 10K just yesterday, if you run too much, you could risk having a injury and being on the IC, I or you would not want that to occur.

Hi Buddy34 ...I had ‘one of those runs’ this morning too...I hitched a lift with Daddycav but it was late morning and far to hot to be running for me...so it felt rubbish...but I went, and yes you’re right, some runs are just like that x

Your experience is really showing now Buddy. The exact attitude to take. You've done an awful lot of miles last month so rest those legs a little and get back out there Wednesday. It's another new run!

Hi Buddy34,

My neighbour who is marathon runner told be she has bad days when she our running too!

I mean , here’s a person who normally runs 13 miles at anytime just for fun !

Some days she can’t just run and may have to walk run or cut the whole run short .

I had no idea they had off days too.

I have to say , after chatting to her I felt ok about my off days, slower times or struggling to run just 5K .

Hope this helps you ? 🐾

I used to have runs like this but they’re not so frequent now. Not sure what changed - then or now 🤷‍♀️ I’ve learned just to move on. Hope next run is more satisfying.

Yes, I think it's just one of those things... I don't knowingly do anything differently from one run to the next but some are definitely better than others. Next one will be fine, hopefully 😊🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Sorry to hear that - but you got out there and got a "bad" one out the way - so maybe it will be all good now for a while???

As everybody else said, it happens …… annoying at the time, but no big deal. Kudos for keeping going - if I find one's going really badly, I'm likely to abort - we do this for fun, after all, don't we?
