Yesterday I celebrated the anniversary of achieving 10k I graduated March 2016 then at the end of May 2016 I amazed myself by running 10k - I never thought I would even manage 5k!
Set off before 6am because of the heat - just love the early mornings, cool (ish!) and very few other folk out. The old railway line is mostly shaded by wonderful trees and high hedges, a delightful place to run. No sheep in the fields next to the line, although I am very wary because the farmer moves them about regularly. So Squiggy was off the lead, free to chase the pigeons and squirrels Next along the hilly lanes, again shaded by high hedges, to the next village and a brief stop for a photo. Finally retracing our steps back down the railway line, along the harbour front and home. Delightful.
Three 10k runs last week making May's total 120km's! This last 2 months I have loved the routine of running 3x a week and my fitness has certainly improved. But...….things set to change and from this week I will be in school more days as well as the usual planning etc at home, so I will need a new mindset.....
My plan is to aim for two runs a week - a longer one on Sunday and another one in the week on a day when I don't go into school or possibly in the evening (although I usually feel too tired).
Happy running everyone
