Nailed 10k this morning so yes please! Started this around autumn last year and life and an injury got in the way. Decided to just enjoy regular running, but finally, finally got that 10.09k this morning! Feeling very proud and have just put together a "plan" to aim for 100k during June with consolidation runs and a mix of 5k and 6k routes.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to marmalademonster

Congratulations, and that sounds like a fun plan!!!! xx

Ran 60min for 7k last week. Real goal is 10k, but I'm slow so accidently reached this goal first. It has made me remember that before Quitter's Day this year I rarely moved and grocery shopping was exhausting. Yeah c25k for helping me get up and get moving safely and supported. I am deeply grateful.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to dieOR5k

That's awesome - well done!!!!

Hello! I’m not sure if I have the 10k badge already or not! I’ve attempted the magic plan a couple of times and did do a 10k event last year...but I recently finished the plan properly and it culminated in a charity 10k run (which I did remotely, so to speak). I have really amazed myself and have been feeling so good As a result of my efforts. Thank you for sharing this brilliant plan and for all the support that the community gives. I’ve even managed to persuade my husband to try running which is brilliant.

So, how to keep the momentum going? What next?! Do I consolidate or challenge further? Any advice, greatly appreciated. I do love a plan, the structure is really helpful so if you can recommend anything that would be great.

Thank you Jo x

roseabiAdministrator in reply to JoOnTheRun

Well done, how fabulous to finish with a charity 10K!!

You do have your badge, it shows up next to your name when you post on this forum. Unfortunately it's not visible to those using the Health Unlocked app, so if that's you try logging in via your browser and you should be able to see your badge.

As to what to do next, well that's a good question! When I started running 10K, I started drawing up new routes to try out, and had a lot of fun exploring my town (I'd not been here long at the time). I soon found that I was getting faster too, and that could be something to challenge you! Pretty soon, I found myself focusing on a half marathon - would that be something that would interest you?

I wrote a "What next?" post a while ago, check it out (it's a bit out of date wrt racing events, I may edit it at some point...):

Thank you Roseabi, I really appreciate your advice and support. I will be sure to take a look at your post. Many thanks!

Hi all,

Only a short while after gaining my 60 minute badge, this morning I managed 10.21km. It wasn’t fast and it wasn’t pretty but I managed it.

Thanks in advance.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to ChainsawCharlie

Congratulations, superstar!!!!

Hi, I completed my first 10k on Friday! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€ͺ I thought I posted in Mays badge post but couldn’t see it or my post failed or could of even posted on a completely different thread πŸ˜‚ TIA

roseabiAdministrator in reply to JonnyBeGood

All's well that ends well 😊 Congratulations!!!

JonnyBeGoodGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

Thank you!

Hi, I did my 1st 10k today. Miracle I think, running in hot weather, then having a cool day today, just had to be done. Also, just coming home from my work as well. No real plan to get it, but I did 6, then a 7 last week and thought, just go for it. It was also a very hilly route so no pbs, just slow running. So proud of myself. 1 year from starting c25k no a 10k and no plank training.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Rogie55

Awesome work! Congratulations!!!!

I decided to make lockdown work for me & make my on-a-day-exercise outing count, so at the end of March I started Ju-Ju's magic running plan aiming for 60 minutes running. However it morphed into a 10K+ run plan halfway through! On 25/4 I smashed the target & ran 11K, since then I've managed a similar distance each week!

Oh & I did start the 3min plankethon to run alongside this but the up-downs finished me off!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Bordandbey

Lol, sorry to hear about those dastardly up-downs! πŸ˜„

But massive congratulations to you - what a superstar!!!!

60 mins please! A run last night along the river, I covered a slow 8k πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Uphill-downhill

Awesome! Well done!!!!

I ran 10 k and 1h10 today! I started c25k at the end of March during lockdown. As mentioned in an earlier post I did this in memory of my dad who passed away unexpectedly this week.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to metamorphfreebird

I am so sorry for your loss.

Here's an extra special 10K badge for you and your dad!! xxxxxx

Did the 60 mins but not sure about the 10km, at my age. Discussed with my coach (grandson ha ha) and will drop back to 5ks for a rest period before thinking of a 10k.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Silverfox1943

Congratulations!!! Enjoy your 5ks xx

10k completed! Very slow 1 hour 16 minutes but happy I managed to run that long without stopping! πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Bluejav

Excellent! Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Ran my first few 10K - just had the right motivation in the virtual NHS Run for Our Heroes and NHS 2020..,am chuffed to bits and planning my first half-marathon

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Princess_pony69

Wow, congratulations!!!!!

Hi Roseabi,

Please may I have my 60 minute badge? Hoping to get 10k in the next three months. Can’t quite believe I am even thinking that!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Timotea

Awesome work - congratulations!!! And believe! 😊😊😊

I completed my first 10K back in April, since then I’ve gone on to run 7 in total and even managed 10miles (very slowly!)

I have only just got round to signing up for this forum though as I’ve only been on couch to 5k One.

I have now logged into the marathon one with the aspiration to aim for a HM by the Autumn.

Thank you!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Ellesbelles85

Didn’t realise 10k graduation was a thing...very chuffed to say that I have now completed 3. πŸ’•πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’• Please may I graduate?? πŸ˜‹

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Vintage61

Well done!!!

Hi!!! I have just ran a 10k for the first time! Race for life has been cancelled but did it anyway for my grandad x

roseabiAdministrator in reply to LUHAN

Yay, congratulations!!!!

Hi, just completed my first 60 min run today πŸ₯΅. The total distance (with walks) was just a smidge under 10k so hopefully it won't be long before the 10k badge is requested πŸ˜‰

roseabiAdministrator in reply to SadlyBroke

Awesome - well done!!!

Hi I did my first 10k on April 12th as part of my running clubs virtual relay race.

Please can I have a graduate badge? Thank you

roseabiAdministrator in reply to littlemac24

Oh dear, I'm going to have to eat humble pie .....

In February I told my partner 'I don't do running' but yesterday I did 10k and a bit more, so maybe I am a runner now. 🀣 Above is a picture of the beautiful countyside that I ran through.

Going to have fun with my running over the next few weeks and then set the new challenge. Half Marathon?

Please could I have my 10k graduate badge.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Kiwipie

Ha ha, well done!! Here is your badge 😊😊😊

We are starting a half mara group over on the Marathon community if you're interested?

Thank you, will go and check that out. 😁

I'd love a graduate badge. So pleased. Didn't think I had 10k in these old legs but JuJu's plan is definitely Magic

roseabiAdministrator in reply to LadyGault

Congratulations, superstar!!!

Managed my 10k earlier this month as outlined. Followed that with an easier 5k the following day. Had a lovely walk to the village which is just shy of four miles away, but oddly really struggled to walk back up. I don’t know what I did’ I didn’t feel anything, but seem to have goosed my bum! It’s been pretty sore tbh. Trouble sitting, getting up, generally no comfortable positions at all, so I’ve not run since last Saturday morning and am worried I’ll have forgotten how to. I appear on the mend so I’m hoping to run again either tomorrow, certainly no later than Monday. I was so chuffed with myself too. I forgot to ask for my badge please and thank you. Hopefully I’ll get more 10ks under my belt v soon.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Banana12

Well done, and I'm glad you're on the mend! xxx

Did10k this morning with my daughter in law after following ju ju’s plan, was really tough, glad it ended!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Vonb

Well done, running superstar!!!

VonbGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

Thank you x

Hi there,

I have completed 10k! Finally after never quite getting there since I started running 3 years ago with my max being 7k.....super chuffed with it 😁

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Mrsh3

Awesomeness!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrsh3Graduate10 in reply to roseabi

Thanks so much! 😁

Hit the 10K in 1 hour 20mins - slow but so glad I did it, Thanks.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Gememms

Awesome! Congratulations!!!

Motivated by the prospect of a Father's Day brunch I went out and clocked up my first ever 10k run this morning πŸ˜€, recording a very pleasing (and surprising) time of 1:03:04, with a 5k split of 31:05 - better than some of my recent 5k runs! πŸ€” And yes, the brunch was delicious πŸ˜‰.

I've enjoyed holding the 60min badge but I'd much prefer to see the 10k one in its place, please!

Happy Father's Day all.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to SadlyBroke

How perfect! Congratulations, and here is your upgrade 😊😊😊

Hi Roseabi

After getting to 9.3k back in March and then going backwards via IC / being ill / blah blah I finally made the 10k today. Woo hoo! It feels like a slow train coming, but finally, finally I did it! The time will improve I expect but really I don't care just pleased to make the 10k!!! (10k in 69 mins).

Nine months ago (when I started C25K) I couldn't run for the bus.

So glad and grateful to C25K /Bridge to 10K and all the posters.

May I have a graduate badge please?

roseabiAdministrator in reply to RunSkippyRun

Amazing!!!! A massive well done to you, and your well-deserved badge! xx

Hi Roseabi,

I Started C25K in January and graduated about 2 months ago. Been working through the Magic Plan and actually had most of last week off running but then managed to do my first 10km on Sunday. Time was 56:48 :)

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Kr692

Wow congratulations!!!!

Hi Roseabi, I got my 60min badge a while back and had been happily plodding around taking in scenery, not worrying too much about distance, but then I "accidentally" did 10K! I went out not really knowing what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go, but everything felt very relaxed and comfortable, so I kept going... before I knew it, I'd done 8.5K and I then thought "Why not? I feel good today, I can manage another 1500m" and the rest, as they say, is history! It took me a leisurely 1:13:15 to run 10.04K, but still chuffed I got there!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to abitwobbly

Oops!! πŸ˜„ Just kidding, awesome work - congratulations!!!!

abitwobblyGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

Thank you πŸ˜„

Just completed my very first 10k this morning. So flipping unbelievable. Jan 2020 was overweight out of shape and fairly sedentary. Broke no speed records but did cross a finish line. Thank goodness for the forum for keeping me mentally on my feet when it is so easy to quit. So so easy to quit. Just can’t believe I’m finished. 1h21mπŸŽ‰πŸ†πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ“

roseabiAdministrator in reply to dieOR5k

Believe it! Huge congratulations, superstar!!!!

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Uphill-downhill

Congratulations, superstar!!!!

Achieved 10k this afternoon even with the wind factor today! Never ever thought when I started out last September doing the Couch to 5k that 10k would be a realistic option! The community spirit and encouragement on here is second to none and is so inspiring seeing people achieve their own personal goals from all walks of life :)

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Jamie671

This is wonderful to read!!! A massive Well Done to you, amazing runner!!!!

Completed my first 10K (and first ever plus-60 minutes!) this morning, just in time for the end of June I guess - though not planned that way! I would love a badge to mark something that even a few months ago I thought was totally out of reach : )

Thanks so much to everyone on the forum for the support and inspiration that have helped sustain my enthusiasm and motivation: it's been a tough few months at work (I'm a mental health nurse and Covid has made for a lot of changes and additional stress) and also running-wise (pain in my knee and a persistent blister on my little toe!)...but this is a big achievement for me.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Reverie1

This is wonderful, huge congratulations to you!!!!

Aw, many thanks, roseabi - that's made my day!! : )

I managed to run for 1hour which brought me just short of 9km. So might as well claim my 1 hour badge .

I posted my strava elsewhere on bridge to 10k.

roseabiAdministrator in reply to Rungranny

Congratulations! Not far off 10K now 😊😊😊
