After getting a strain at the top of my thigh muscle (Not running, but diving into an unplanned & well underway exercise session π€¦π½ββοΈ), Iβve been out a couple of times intending to test my running stability, but ended up not feeling quite right and doing a precautionary walk for the 30 minutes, rather than run. π₯±π₯±! I did not get the same uplift from the walk, but if needs must! It was more of a stomp than a walk too, because I knew it wouldnβt be wise to run, even though I wanted to ignore it, I couldnβt. Donβt follow one silly act with another! π€«π
Today, Iβve actually ran ππ½. I know...no biggie, but I was feeling frustrated by my own stupidity. I followed the suggestion of one of my great VRBβs and tried intervals to see if that works better (he has a disclaimer, his advice is of course to stop if thereβs any discomfort and just do my walk!) I think I was in all or nothing mode before.
Go you! I replied to a post the other day saying I've missed the sadistic nature of intervals... might do the speed session from the c25k+ podcasts on my next run π
Intervals was brilliant!! The thigh was ok. I wasnβt sure how Iβd be today, but it feels fine. ππ½ππ½ Iβm still just going to ease back in slowly. As long as I go, thatβs the main thing. ππβ€οΈ

Intervals are so sadistic. And at the time so so so painful. But are really worthwhile. They train your brain for pain, stamina and speed. I knocked 9 minutes off my parkrun finish times after doing intervals and long runs. Itβs good to mix things up too.
Well done Fabulous450 ...interval sessions are my favourite, honestly...theyre so good for getting your heart pumping and your stamina will be through the roof!!! You're out there doing wht feels just right for you and that's just perfect xx
