B210k week5run2. 25 mins x 2 with 1 min walk between. ✔️

I didn’t run yesterday as it was so windy and I thought it would be better today. Well you know what thought did, don’t you?.....

When I first opened my eyes it looked bright and sunny outside and I was worried it would be too hot already but by the time I was dressed and downstairs and opened the curtains it was gently drizzling. And then I noticed the top of next doors hedge blowing in the wind and when I opened the back curtains I saw my gazebo trying to take off. ☹️. I decided to go anyway and it was only light rain.

I still went in shorts and tee shirt though and was warm enough once I was moving. And the rain stopped after 5 mins. I was glad I’d taken my sunglasses as it came out bright and sunny. When I set off I was running at a right angle to the Tarka trail and the wind was blowing towards me so once I got near it I thought I’d worked out which way it was blowing so I ran up towards the park first, thinking it would be behind me on the return journey. It was still quite gusty so I veered off and ran up a couple of side streets as they were more sheltered and then cane round and ran to the end of the park. Then walked my 1 min and turned back along the top bank along the river. And I was wrong because I was NOW running into the wind!!!!! All the last 25 mins. There were times when I could not catch my breath so I didnt think my times were going to be anything fantastic.

I managed just over 6k in 51 minutes but did have a couple of new PRs in a couple of segments..... strangely when I was running AGAINST the wind too. 😁

Glad I went? Yes I am but I wish I could work out wind directions 🤣🤣

Came back and did 35 minutes Pilates to warm down, showered and now chilling. And the beauty of that wind is I dried a whole load of washing in about an hour. Although the wind has trashed a lot of my beautiful Salvias that were flowering.

Looking forward to Monday’s run... preferably or so windy though.

Great run in the wind. Blowing a hooly here. Just back from a walk in woodland - lots of branches and a tree down. Take care. Happy running 🤗

Yeah there were a lot of branches down round the park too. Mainly smaller ones but lots

If always seems so hard to judge and running into a headwind always makes you more determined. It's funny how it's always so difficult to predict which way it'll get behind you. Well done on getting out and more miles in the bag!

Thanks. Just been out for a nice long walk this evening with my daughter and the wind is quite exhilarating but we came away from the River as we just could not go forward against the wind there...too open.

Great job getting out there in all that windy weather. I too never seem to understand how the wind can run circles round me when I think I have it cracked. Lovely run, enjoy Monday’s 🏃🏼‍♀️👍👏

I avoided friday because it was so windy so had to run on Saturday which was still tough running into that headwind.

Weather can be quite a challenge for me , too windy, too hot, icy cold and lashing rain. But when the perfect conditions come along with not too much of anything it is so lovely to just run.

I'm working on just learning to tough it out.

It has been a very windy few days here in Somerset better today but still a bit blowy! Well done for running in that wind - such hard work!
