Great to see all you guys bombing along and completing your 10k runs! However I'm still battling with my weight (its going up rather than down!) and just wanted to share a more modest success: 4k! Give me two more weeks and I should be up to 5k however that'll be nearly 60 mins jogging time. Have developed a slight knee niggle so trying to have a 2 day break but I might just strap up and push on tomorrow. Also, does anyone here run with a camelbak? Ciao!

I use a camelback on long runs. I don’t like things round my waist and in the summer it helps to keep me cool. But that’s not so good in the winter 🥶🏃🏻♀️
I can assure you Enxo that I’m definitely not one of the bombers! In fact, you and I could match each other- there really aren’t many people who run as slow as I do and it’s nice to have company at the back for a change! Enjoy that 5k when it comes!
Well done Enxo. Don’t fret about speed at all. We’re all individuals and each run we do is individual too. I’ve found my happy running pace and tend to stick to it, and it’s taken me from C2HM comfortably!
Thanks! I started loosing weight when I started C25K but seem to have plateued/gained now I'm nearly doubling my time. 5k will be a major milestone for me and i've already celebrated by buying new trainers (ASICS Kayano 26s - on trial). I've also invested in a new camelbak as I hate holding things when I jog. As long as my knees hold up this should see me through the summer! Thanks again everyone!
Success is going out of the door my friend. Whether it's 1k 10k or 100k. As long as you are out there then it's a successful run. Good luck and keep going.
What GTFC says Enxo Hardest distance of all is from the couch to outside the door - after that, the run is a run.
There are days I have to force myself to stop, and days I say "Sod this for a game of soldiers", turn around and walk home after a very short distance - but, slow and steady and regular builds up the miles and most runs are very satisfactory as a result
Well done, you will make 5k soon ! I have taken 5 weeks of gradually longer consolidation runs to reach 5k. During this time I learnt about interval running from a post Using this method I found that by running for 2 min and walking for 30 secs I could cover a lot more ground , and ran 4.5 miles (whatever that is in K) without a problem
