I graduated from couch to 5km on the 5th of April and have been doing consolidation runs, I decided to challenge myself to run 10km by the end of April to celebrate the 100th birthday of Captain Tom.
On Easter Sunday I was not feeling me best and started urinating blood, next day I visited the Doctors I walked in and came out in am ambulance I went down hill very rapidly. Thanks to the amazing NHS they got me back on my feet in days and I was able to complete my challenge. I cant thank the NHS enough from the Ambulance crew to the amazing Nurses and Doctors in A&E who where so compassionate towards me.
Just to make sure I didn't dream the 10km I completed it again this morning and yes I did it again.
To all who don't think they can do it yes you can!!! I started running this year and have not run since University and now I am running consistently 3 times per week and I am now training for a half marathon.
I would not have done it without the support of everyone on this forum and on Strava, who have supported me on this journey I salute you all along with Captain Tom.
Take care and stay safe
