It wasn't that quick, it's just that I did it all in one go instead of taking all day and 3 errands about it like last time.
I was very happy to get out there today on a cold, crisp, sunny winter's day. Some slippery patches which I took really slowly, but the whole run felt so DOABLE. How amazing. (Maybe I should take a week off more often). The only difficult bit was my circular route was completed in 9km so I had to turn away from home and run back up the hill at the end. I need a really good, circular 10km route, or a buddy who is 10km away who has a kettle and lives on a bus route like my 5km buddy.
The only reason I went out today was because I felt motivated by everyone's posts, so thank you everyone for keeping me on my toes ( you know who you are).
I'm working away next week and have packed my running gear. Heading south and hoping the thaw will have set in down there next week.

I'm hoping the boss will give me a couple of daylight hours to run in as I'm doing the set up and then the early shift on the first day of an exhibition. Hoping to go find the canal and run along that...
Looks gorgeous Baddie. A lovely chilly 10k in the bag! 👏👏
I assume you were wearing trail shoes? I’m hoping to try mine out this week and if yours can deal with that beautiful snowy run, I’d like to think mine will deal with our common even though it’s currently covered with snow. ❄️❄️❄️
We still have a fair amount of snow on the ground (Bristol), but it has melted quite a bit today. The issue now is ice with these cold nights. Hoping we’ll warm up next week - where are you headed? Fingers crossed you can run. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Actually I wore my usual shoes because a running neighbour said she'd done the route earlier and it was fine. Also the soles on my trail shoes are firmer and I thought they might be more skiddy on ice.
The run was ok. Slow and careful, but the last bit of the cool down walk looked a bit dodgy. I didn't want to fall WALKING when I'd just stayed upright for a 10km run 😬so walked round the long way. Clearer and much less ice 😄
Gosh interesting! I minced around the woods with the dog after I’d been to the gym, and it was very slippery in places. A guy ran slowly past me in trail shoes and looked unperturbed - me in my wellies not so much! Like you, I didn’t want to fall whilst walking. 👎
Pretty as a picture Baddie, but treacherous underfoot I’ll bet. Good on you for getting out there and here’s hoping for a snow free few runs next week. 👍
It was gorgeous in the sun. I went very slowly whenever there was ice or snow. It still only took a couple of mins longer than my first ever 10km so I was very happy 😀
Oh BTP, you put me to shame. I wimped out! We had about 2.5 inches of snow on top of ground which was frozen in parts when I ran on Thursday. I could just imagine the slippy bits waiting to get me! Hopefully it will have thawed out a bit by tomorrow afternoon. Well done for getting out there and staying upright for 10k. Unstoppable!🚂🚂
I did have a week off waiting for the weather to thaw. Funny how you miss running when you can’t do it! Never thought I’d say that. Tee hee hee, I’m a new woman!
Excellent work on your continuous 10k Baddie... although I did love your all day errand 10K too! 😁👌 That’s great to hear that everyone on the forum had motivated you to get out there. I’m sure you must be able to work tha extra Km addition into your 9k loop somewhere along the way 🤔surely! 🤷🏼♂️⚡️
