My first 10k!!

It's taken 24 hours to sink in but I ran my first 10k yesterday, definitely not going to break any speed records (my sister has nicknamed me Slow Farah) but I'm very proud of my progress since starting c25k in march.

For this run I planned out a new route using mapometer ( mapometer.com// ) and ran across the fields past some cows to a village I haven't run to before and had a nice scenic loop home through more countryside and up the big hill (well big by Norfolk standards!)

I know I definitely qualify as a lurker but I'm so grateful to the admins & regular posters here who give invaluable time and knowledge to the community and have given me so much motivation to carry on with this running malarkey 😊😊

Fantastic! Sounds like a great run - except the cows..... I hate cows.....they scare me πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

πŸ˜‚I was a bit worried but they were all far too interested by their food to even acknowledge me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I hate cows too - in fact I ran my first 10k (which should have been 9k) accidentally because I took a detour around a field of bullocks!

Well done! Bet you feel fantastic! Slow Farah made we laugh πŸ˜‚.

And why the lurking - we'd love to hear more about your running!

Thank you 😊 I'm surprised none of the lovely snails on here had come up with slow farah before & the fab response here might just persuade me to do a bit more posting in the future 😊😊

Wow, that's incredible. Brave venturing passed cows, I don't trust them. So pleased for you, a medal winner for sure πŸŽ–πŸŽ‰

Thank you 😊 it was round the edge of a field and there were plenty of dog walkers around so not too bad πŸ˜‚

You are amazing! Congrats! I hope I follow you soon (am at the 7-8k mark). Like the idea of manometer, I'll just go and have a peek at it...

Happy runnings☺️

Thank you 😊 you'll get there, I just added 1km to my longer run every other week and slowly built up to 10k, good luck 😊😊

Thanks Kirsty. Have just seen the autocorrect put 'manometer' - lol that sounds like something quite unrelated to running!

Congratulations you did it! I do love a 'scenic loop'.I like using Mapometer too for plotting distances band daydreaming about running 10k.Hoping to follow in your slow mo footsteps!

Thanks 😊 you'll get there, it took me 3 months of slowly building up to get to this point good luck 😊

Congratulations!!!

Ran my first 10K yesterday. Feels amazing doesn't it!

Never worry about the pace, stretching out the distance gives more of a sense of achievement in my opinion.
