Some days are tough.

Some days can be tough out there and this was one of them. I like long runs as I settle into a rhythm and as my pace is steady, my breathing is always controlled and I don't feel out of breath. This is because all of the runs before and advice on here has helped me run controlled. Today my knees were sore so as I got to 10 miles I thought I'd go a bit more, but at 11 it was too much so I stopped. Not what I went out for but I came home with something. That something will keep me going to the next run. So if you have a run that didn't give you what you set out for then take what you can and go again next time. This is why running is epic. You never know what will really happen.

Well done GTFC - that's quite a distance. I was going to say I like long runs too, as on a 10K I find the second 5K much easier than the first because of finding a rhythm, but that's on a piddling 10K - 11 miles is some going! 👏

Thank you, 10k is still six miles and requires all the same things though. We just keep running and keep trying and even though at times we can feel it is not going our way, we'll battle again and again.

Sounds like a very tough run, with your knees hurting. Great decision to stop soonish after that, to avoid the injury couch.

Wow, that is some still some distance you achieved and brilliant to take the positives out of it and in to the next run 👍👍

11 miles is a brilliant distance GTFC and better you stopped when you did as you don't want an injury . 😊😊
