I ran 9k on Saturday which is my second 9k run. I’m trying to stop punctuating all running related talk with something about how slow I am 😂🤣 but in a modest 1h20 so expecting 1h30 for 10K 🐌🐌
Anyway, I am planning a couple of short runs through the week as usual but my question is - do I stick to 9k for my long run next weekend to consolidate and minimise any risk of injury OR do i go to 10K so I’m 100% prepared for race day? And in the week between that long run and race day, what do you recommend? One short run, or two as usual?
Thanks in advance 😘

Hi Lapsedyogi. I don't think you should do 9k next weekend.and your short runs should be nice, slow looseners. Have a look at this article on tapering before a 10k google.com/url?sa=t&source=...
Oh Sunday 19th too?! Cool. I’m doing Glasgow Race for Life - I figured it’s the one where people care least about pace and no cut off time. Good luck!!
Yes! I’m doing the Great Manchester Run. There are about three waves setting off after my wave so no worries about coming in at the end. I walked over half of it last year after almost no training and really want to run the whole thing this year. I’m not bothered about time. I would like to aim for one hour 20 though.
Unfortunately my friend has her wedding reception the night before so my ‘alcohol free night before’ has gone out of the window 🤣
