It was a bit gloomy when I woke up but I knew that if I didn't run today I probably wouldn't get a chance until Saturday so that was that. By the time I set off the sky had brightened up and turned from grey to blue. It's always easier to ignore the autumn chill when the sun is shining.
The ground was damp so we decided against running through the fields. We headed along the waterfront towards the marina instead. Quite a few other runners out this morning, everyone saying 'hello', I think we were all enjoying it
Once we reached the halfway point at the marina we decided to cut across the park to run home. Grass underfoot is easier on the knees, even if my feet got wet from the heavy dewfall. Today the GPS on the NRC app was working properly so the kms didn't pass as quickly as some other runs.
Reached my goal of 3km with a little way to go so, much to my husband's surprise, I sped right up but a minute or so was plenty so stopped the run. 3.14km exactly! How many times have I tried to hit this distance deliberately and yet I've managed it twice by accident in the last week
When I got home and checked the numbers it seems that I managed negative splits for the first time in forever.
Sometimes it all works out just right
