When I first ran a sub 30 minute 5K in January UpTheStanley remarked that I might be able to run sub 28 by Easter - which of course I immediately set as a target ... π€£
Managed to sneak in a 27:30 this morning - so I just about made it in time for Easter. Also managed to "break" my Garmin, which said that V02 Max for my age and gender only goes up to 50 - so I was determined to make it go past that. Of course it just says 52 so it appears to not to have noticed! It's my birthday next month, so I guess I need to think up a new target to try for by then.π€
I was enjoying running 10K Monday-Wednesday-Friday, but each time the first 5K was low 29s and the second high 28s, so I wasn't going to make it to sub 28 by Easter. So this Wednesday I decided to switch to running 5K every day, which would also help with the lockdown blues I was feeling on non running days.
I'm still a novice, with much to learn, and to my surprise it seems my body absolutely loves the daily 5K. For the first time I am feeling a running afterglow which I can best describe as my body singing to itself for the rest of the day. An odd description perhaps, but I often view the world through sound, which I respond to the most out of all the senses.
Anyway, I thought this morning's run was going to be rubbish, as that was how I was feeling, but the first k clicked past in 5:33, and I thought, don't slow down too much and I might do it!
