No idea why, but after a long pause over Christmas for flu/hols I just couldn't get back up to 10k again having just got there in December.
So to compensate I have been working on my 5k time and with a bit of distance added on the end if I can manage it - and I have gotten down from 5k in 30mins to 5k in just over 26 - yesterday I did my first sub 5.5 min per km and 5in 25 is now in sight!
Taken a long time but at last something nice to write about!
Flip side is 10k looks a way away at the moment (maxing at 7) but at least I wasn't selected for the local half marathon (which of course is cancelled anyway) so I don't have to worry about it anymore!

I had viral infection in February over a period of 9 days, but I had to build up very slowly afterwards...the bug took a lot out of me. I would back the pace right off on your 10k attempts, and build it up 1k a week. At some point your underlying fitness will kick in and 10k will be as easy as it ever was. Worked for me. 👍
