Havenβt posted in a while although Iβve been hovering in the background π
Back to work (school) tomorrow - 6 weeks of running progress though over the summer to updateππ½
Firstly, I joined a fab new running group which has changed my life. Made so many friends. Done loads of hill work. Knocked a fair bit off my ParkRun time which Iβd been stuck at for weeks: 11 more seconds to sub 30! Can hardly believe it. 2 weeks with a club and knocked 43 seconds off. Another week, another 40 off!
Oh and I got a virtual race at your own pace for 75 miles in August! That was hard! Previously only ever got to 50 miles πͺπ½
Then today was my sponsored 10k. (Iβm on the far right of the pic in the Cancer Research top.) I ran the course in May for my very first 10k and did it in 1:18. Today I was a smidge under 1:06. Delighted. Especially as it was so hot and I know Iβd have gone faster in cooler weather. Even seriously contemplating a HM next year but need massive work in core strength. However, I could only just manage running for one minute intervals in February. When I look at my progress from then to now, who knows what I can do in the future.
Oh and Iβve lost 4 stone since the end of last September ππ½
Now, back to work π

Wow great stuff. Fantastic weightloss and speedy running. You should be so proud of yourself and you all look amazing. I need to join a running club, it sounds so much fun, I just need to get past the dislike of doing what someone else plans hehe.
Thank you so much. Itβs the second group Iβve tried - the first werenβt friendly enough! But if you find the right group, itβs fantastic. Massive range of abilities too ππ½ Itβs certainly easier than running alone ππ½
I'm so pleased for you Tasha! Sounds like you've joined a fabulous group π I've improved more than I ever thought possible since joining my group and like you feel I've made lots of new friends. Those are fantastic improvements in times and best of all it sounds like you're really enjoying it (no more boring runs for you π)
You'd better get thinking about a new target because that sub30 parkrun is coming very soon xx
Thanks Marie! Possibly a sub one hour 10k but that might be tricky π Iβm thinking about my next target with caution ππ½ Itβs great watching us all progress!
It's great isn't it! I think a sub 60 min 10k is perfectly possible for you - just be patient!
Do you have coaches at your club? The track coach at mine has given me some (hopefully π) realistic targets for my 5k times based on how I've run in his sessions and I feel like that's given me a bit of a psychological advantage - he thinks I can do it so I should too π
Brilliant Tasha...well done. Must feel great having made so much progress! Have also been thinking about joining a running club but there's a choice of two in my small town so not sure how to decide which one is best.
Hope you can carry on enjoying your running once school starts again π
Wow - 4 stone!! Thatβs incredible! Well done on that and all the running too! Youβre doing brilliantly and you look great! πβ€οΈπββοΈπ
Well done on a brilliant run Tasha, a great end to the summer holidays and also for losing 4 stone in weight. You must feel a new woman since last year. πββοΈππππ
Go Tasha!! What a fantastic achievement!! And losing 4st!! Wow!! π² Thatβs brilliant! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey!! Well done you!! ππ½ππ½ππ½β€οΈ
You've had a busy summer break! I'm glad you were able to find a compatible running group and Wow! You're doing amazing on your runs. Congrats on the great times and the phenomenal weight loss!
Wow Tasha99 ...I wondered where youβd got to!!! Now I know, youβve been a busy girl!!! Talk about making the most of the summer!?!? I hope youβre dead proud of your achievements, all of them...and you look AMAZING by the way xxx well done lass xx
Wow! Wow! Wow! So good to hear how well things have been going for you on the running front and the amazing weight loss front too. Congratulations! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈβοΈI had looked for your posts and wondered how you were getting on. So pleased that you are enjoying your running group so much. I wonder how much time per week you run with them. I do hope that the new term has started well and expect that you have a new class who will soon be running under your guidance.
Good to hear it. I expect you have a reputation as the teacher that takes her class running. I know we almost all know about the 'eat less exercise more' idea, but crumbs! I am still marvelling at your amazing weight loss! Were there any particular things that helped you!
Brilliant! Iβve not been on here for a while (app issues and Summer hols for me too π) and as soon as I did I thought βI wonder if Tasha has gone under 30 mins yetβ!! You are so going to do that in the very near future. That 10K time is fab too! I also started in Feb so track your progress alongside my own ππ I just went under 31 minutes for the first time (just!) but have been training for a half marathon and really prefer the gentle plod pace. Iβve got too comfortable with plodding in fact! Keep going (you keep me going!) x
