Hi all,

I’m a newbie to this group. I just graduated from C25K last week, and my third consolidation run was combined with my first ever park run today.

Happy running all 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️👍

Congratulations on graduating and welcome to this side of the bridge. We are just as friendly as supportive, you’ll probably also recognise a few names. Do keep posting your progress. Well done on your 1st park run. Happy running 🤗

Thank you very much Grannyhugs.

I need to have a little look through the faqs, but I’m thinking about joining Ju Ju’s magic 10 group.

Happy running to you too 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👍

The plan is great, a short, a 5k and a long run each week.

Sounds good, I think.

Nice to have you - everyone is lovely and encouraging and you’ll always find an answer to any question you may have. JuJu’s plan is great to give you the structure you’ve been used to in C25k but don’t forget to let yourself be free of structure and try new routes, distances, hills 😳, speeds......so many options!!

Thank you very much Sparkey5000, that is great to know that everyone on this forum is so helpful and encouraging.

You hit the nail on the head there, having just completed C25K it is nice to have some freedom but I think I would really benefit from another structure such as JuJu’s plan for me to progress further.

Two quick questions please....

Can I start JuJu’s magic 10 plan at any time?

And

What the best advice on improving pace safely ?

I’m asking this because I managed to run 5 k in my C25K graduation run in 29.28 and my first park run yesterday in 30.35 BUT in both of those I was struggling in the second half of those runs. I know my Fitbit isn’t a calibrated medical device, but it showed my heartbeat as 182 for the parkrun yesterday ( I am male , age 55 next month ).

While I’m really happy with the times, I want to achieve them and better them in a bit of a more controlled way without struggling so much in the latter part of the run.

Any advice much appreciated.

Happy running 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️
