Hi Guys

I graduated on the 21st of December and have run 3 times a week since then also doing 3 5k runs and a 6k including my first park run.

My question is how did you consolidate? How long for before you started the B210k?

Also whatโ€™s the best/ reasonably priced smart watch/ tracker you use? I have a Fitbit blaze and I know they are not accurate so want to replace it.

Hi Sham19. I did about 3 weeks of 30-40 min runs when I 1st graduated I averaged about 5k in 37 minutes. Then I started the the bridge 2 10k . I never fully followed the plan. I just added a bit extra to 1 of my runs in a week till I reached 10k it was based of the plan. I use Apple Watch series 3 and I like it it seems accurate enough and as gps. I lot of people use a garmin watch they seem be a lot more popular.

Hi Maz thanks for that. My 5k is about 45 mins so I know I can run for that long and the longest has been 49. Iโ€™d like to improve my pace ready for the 10K.

Your pace will probably improve as you keep running. Thatโ€™s what mine seemed to do. My pace just naturally seemed to get faster

hi and welcome! well don't on graduating :-) I'd say around 3 or more weeks, there's plenty of pinned posts on here for advice on whats next. just enjoy if for a while and be free to do your own thing

I love my Garmin, but I ran for about a year just recording stuff on Strava (the free version) via phone .

The advice is 3-4 weeks of consolidation. This is 3 x 5K runs a week and assists with getting you used to this distance and after the 9 week c25k programme it gives your body a bit of a break without introducing any more time or distance to your runs. I really enjoyed consolidation, these should be no pressure runs and listen to your body and get to know it more.

I started the juju magic plan about 2-3 months after graduation, I could have started it earlier but I was nervous about doing 10K when 5K already seemed very long! I made it though and am very happy!

Pace is quite slow

Congratulations on graduating C25K! I did 3 or 4 weeks of consolidation runs; either setting my timer to 30 minutes or 5k depending on my mood and just seeing how I did. It took me a good few weeks to get into a groove.

Thereโ€™s plenty of 10k training plans out there. If you decide to get a Garmin watch then they have a great 10k plan that Iโ€™m currently using and loving. Iโ€™m also throwing in some park runs which Iโ€™m also really enjoying.

Thank you. That sounds like a great plan. Iโ€™m veering towards a Garmin so will do some research as to the best one ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello Sham19. You've now ran a few 5ks and a 6k so I'm sure you're ready to go further.

Of course there is ju_jus magic plan to get to 10k.

What I did was added on 1k to my run each Monday until I got to 10k.

I bought my garmin forerunner 35 in July last year and I love it.

Think you can now get it for ยฃ99.99.

Yes I think so . People were talking about it on here today. You don't get someone talking in your ear but the watch vibrates

Hi and welcome. I did 2 weeks of 5k 3 days each week then started on 10k. Graduated 10k in December and just running new routes now. Aiming for 500miles in 2020. I use a garmin forerunner 35, perfect for my needs. Loads of stats. Happy running
