Even though I graduated C25K a year ago, and registered for Parkrun almost straight after, I only found the courage to run my first PR this morning. Since graduating, I have been trying to keep going with my running- as a solitary plodder. But, this morning, with a friend I went to the Melksham PR in the drizzle. A huge thank you to all the marshalls for their effort and relentless cheerfulness. Of course with it being my first one I was rewarded with a PB- 32.53m. What a great experience all round- think I'll go back next Saturday! if you haven't tried it- go for it- everyone is so welcoming ad supportive.

Parkrun Newbie
Wow misspelling, congratulations on a fantastic time for your debut PR! That’s really good going, and I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Warning though, it’s really addictive! 😅🏃♀️
Well done for finally plucking up the courage to give Park Run a go. You will go back. It’s very addictive!
That's another one of us with Saturday mornings lost forever
Well done on your first parkrun misspelling. Your Saturdays will never be the same.
Congratulations on completing your first 5k Parkrun and in a excellent time, well done 👍😊
Welcome to the cult. It starts with a single run. Before you know it you will be chasing milestone T shirts and amassing obscure ‘tourist’ runs. My name is Coddfish and I am a parkrun addict.
Glad you enjoyed your first parkrun misspelling! There's plenty more where that came from! 😀
Hi misspelling
I know just what you mean about hesitating before that first parkrun - especially if going on your own.
I eventually braved it recently (having until then always been on the treadmill?) and have now done 3. It is now the highlight of my running week and I am converted to running outdoors! Also, my times are very significantly faster outdoors than on treadmill, where I must have been very carefully pacing myself? (Although we are talking snail 🐌 pace in my case).
Anyone waiting to do a first parkrun should go for it because for the majority I am sure you will love it - the volunteers are great 👍 (at Sewerby) and really help keep you going.
Well done on your first parkrun. I was very happy this morning to have received my red 50 parkrun T Shirt. I shall wear it with pride. I adore parkrun and have made some lovely friends through it.

Thank you to you all for your words of encouragement. For those of you collecting milestone T-shirts (Damienair - 50 !!)- it seems like PR really is addictive. I have been warned!
Happy running in the rain this week. Stay safe.
Well done on your 1st Parkrun, so glad you enjoyed it and what a good time too 🎉👍
I've not done a Parkrun yet, graduated a few months ago and am working up to 10K now so busy with my long run on a Sunday.
Not even sure if there's one near me, I'm sure I'll get round to it one day! 😬
