Including warm up/cool down

Does anyone else feel like this?

I graduated C25K in early Feb so I'm just consolidating now. I log my runs on Strava and share them onto Facebook as I get a lot of support from friends. I've always started Strava as I start the podcast so it includes my 5 min warm up and cool down walksso my statistics show a slower overall pace.

I know that it makes no odds and that it's a simple solution to start and stop Strava after/before the walks.

Just a brain dump really and wondering if it bothers (irrationally!) anyone else?😂

When I was doing c25k I did include the warm up / cool down walk but haven't done this in a long time I just want to see the run on there. At the end of the day it doesn't matter . Do what suits you 😊😊

Your runs your choice how you record it. Running police are happy as long as you are happy. 🤗

I started Strava after the 5 minute warm up and stopped it when I started walking again. I have now moved onto a watch. I’ve never wanted to share information about where and when I run, although I know many do.

I run with 2 apps going - MapMyRun from start to finish including warm up and cool down walks (which I really like!) and my Fitbit watch to record the actual run. That’s now become a bit of a habit to do both. But you do what suits really. When I check the stats at the end I tend to look at each km I run to see what my pace was like.

Happy runnings 🙂🏃‍♀️

I’m with you, I also start Strava when I leave the house, so it includes my walk etc. I do get a pleasant surprise when I get my time at parkrun!

I do different things for a race - exclude warm up - or an aerobic training run when I include it. In a race I am interested in the time and the pace, and if my HR goes to 300, it just does. But I train to HR, so at any time I may be running fast downhill, running slow on the flat or walking briskly up hill - the warm-up is getting the HR up to minimum, and the warm-down getting it reset to normal. I'm interested in how long the warm-up/down takes.

If that makes any sense to anyone but me, I'll be surprised....
