Strava problems anyone?

I’ve had Strava before but wasn’t convinced as it differed wildly from Garmin. However as I’m doing the end to end challenge I downloaded it today as that seems best for the challenge. I walked for over an hour and a half (saw that on the recording) but when I downloaded it I find it thinks I did 2 min 22 seconds. Not the greatest start! Anyone else?

Oh no...that must have been frustrating ! 🥴! I’m not sure if it was Strava that was playing up a bit the other day. Will it update later perhaps? 🤞🏽

I don’t have either of them. I took a photo of the distance on my App and attached it as evidence.

I did start my garmin a short way in so not all is lost! I just believed it was easier to use Strava. 🤷‍♀️ It’s just frustrating when tech fails.

That’s brilliant Sybilw!! 👌🏽😁. I did download the Strava app, but I forgot about it, until I was already out. I decided I didn’t want to bother trying to fiddle about trying to get my head around how it works 😂. The uploading of evidence works pretty well, so I’m not sure I’ll bother now. 😁❤️

That’s good to know. I’ll probably stick to Garmin then. Off to (a much delayed) run soon.

I use Garmin but linked it to Strava so that all the runs appear there. They often round down slightly because Strava seems to ignore times when you pause. But it is close enough

Decided to ditch Strava. My phone struggles as it is with memory (too many photos of grandchildren!!) 🤣

Do you still have your garmin watch. As you can use the watch to track your walk run and link it to garmin then it will transfer over . Hope you get it sorted 👍

Given up Strava already!! Taking Fab450’s approach.

How frustrating? Like Buddy, I never use Strava on its own - too much faffing with the phone at the start of the run . I’ve set my garmin to link with Strava so it downloads automatically at the End of the activity. Strava is always .1k less so I always go that little bit further to make sure Strava doesn’t miss the 5k or 1k .

Funnily enough I did have Strava before but deleted it as it was over generous! Was was dangerously close to 5k in 30 min 🤣🤣 I did a belated start of garmin but I thought it might make my life easier!!

I only have Strava, so I have no choice, but so far it’s been working as well as it can within its usual limitations. At least I can’t get frustrated with different mileage readings on different devices 😂

Yes absolutely. Definitely the devil you know - although I WAS severely tempted to accept Strava! Reality won out! I never could lie and it felt like that. 🤣

Well done for starting end to end but how frustrating for you 😤. I use Strava all the time and the only times that has happened is when I have touched pause by mistake and it stopped recording 🙄 and it’s easy to do 🤗 as I hold my phone in my hand

I wouldn’t have minded but I definitely saw it had recorded 1 hour 34!! 🤷‍♀️

I like Strava but occasionally it goes a bit wild. The other day I was running my usual route round a park and stopped at a particular point after 30 minutes was up. Strava said I had gone further than I thought possible. When I got home and checked it showed that at one point my phone had veered off to a building 2 streets away and then run the following 1k in 20seconds! Luckily I knew the exact distance from 2 weeks ago when I stopped at the same telegraph pole.
