1) the eldest grandsprocket and I did a bit of Junior Parkrun Tourism this morning. The weather wasn’t great, but he brought his A game for the first time in ages, and helped by the fact the route was only one lap (and the promise of a sticker if he didn’t throw a wobbly about Not Winning) did a PB 😍
2) I’m entered in a Canicross event next week and they’ve just posted the start times - as each runner starts 30s after the person in front, the faster people set off first so that there isn’t a massive pile up. I’ve been put near the start.
I?
Am not that fast.
Seriously. The woman due to set off right behind me has represented England! I have done social runs with her. She can run rings round me. Literally.
I’m seriously tempted to ‘miss’ my start time and get bumped to the back.
Also? The finish line is currently under about 2’ of water 🤣

It’s entirely possible to just go out and buy a kit, but the dogs generally catch on quicker if you can go out with a group.
There are plenty of social Canicross groups on Facebook, many of them will have beginners runs with kit you can borrow which will give you a better idea of what harness style will fit best.
There’s a map of groups in the files section of Canicross Trailrunners facebook.com/groups/canicro..., and lots of other good info to be had there too.
