1) the eldest grandsprocket and I did a bit of Junior Parkrun Tourism this morning. The weather wasn’t great, but he brought his A game for the first time in ages, and helped by the fact the route was only one lap (and the promise of a sticker if he didn’t throw a wobbly about Not Winning) did a PB 😍
2) I’m entered in a Canicross event next week and they’ve just posted the start times - as each runner starts 30s after the person in front, the faster people set off first so that there isn’t a massive pile up. I’ve been put near the start.
I?
Am not that fast.
Seriously. The woman due to set off right behind me has represented England! I have done social runs with her. She can run rings round me. Literally.
I’m seriously tempted to ‘miss’ my start time and get bumped to the back.
Also? The finish line is currently under about 2’ of water 🤣

One of the parkruns I was at for some reason or another I found myself more or less right at the start when usually I go at 3/4 up the line of runners, when I eventually began the run, by 10 seconds most of the gazelles had of course overtaken me and I was in my more normal place, that will probably be the same with you especially with that lady who represented England.
Enjoy the run once all the gazelles (fast runners) have overtaken you🏃🏾😊
