Completed C25K in December and did my first post-cataract shuffle yesterday, 34 mins - just over 3km achieved, however I'm very slow and this time I dont want to make any mistakes.

Well done on your 34 minutes 3K run.
You say that you had a cateract operation on your eye, I went for a eye test on Wednesday, my eyes are fine but the optician told me I had a very small cateract at the back of my eye and might need a operation in a couple of years time, how did your operation go and is your eyesite better than before it?
2 cataract ops - but one was quite bad so feeling much better and now allowed to bounce again! One eye's gone from -9 to -.5 and the other to 0.75 so ALOT better!
👍
PS, I have just read about cateract operations, what seems worse is not the operation itself but the aftermath of putting drops in the eye for over a month, during my eye test on Wednesday, the worst part of it was the drops being put in my eye.
No - they are no problem (but remembering is?!). The eyedrops used during the operation are local anaesthetic so do sting abit but then they poke around in your eyes so you need them!
Thank you for that information.
I wouldn't worry too much - if they're a serious problem they'll send you to the Royal Sussex for assessment.
Royal Sussex, I live 13 miles from Glasgow in Scotland.
Well then son, I'm sorry but you're f*cked!
It's not that bad, it's not for a few years, maybe not at all, I think there is a specialist eye hospital in Edinburgh or Glasgow, no need for me to go to Royal Sussex.
Not to worry AlMorr there is a specialist eye department in Hairmyres East Kilbride 😊
Thanks for that information Buddy34, I have just come back a 🚶 walk in the countryside near to where I live, about half way to Airdrie, on the way back there was a short heavy snow shower, at that moment coming in the opposite direction there were a group of five ladies who were running 🏃🏾, I shouted at them "good day for a run" the snow shower soon cleared to brilliant sunshine for the rest of my walk and for the ladies run, this afternoon I am going to my daughter's house for Sunday Lunch.
The weather just doesn't know what to do AlMorr. Enjoy your Sunday lunch with your family 😊
Welcome!

Hi Enxo, I remember you saying that you'd be having the op - glad to hear it went well. Hope it felt good to be back out running. Nothing wrong with slow and steady - perfect for getting back into your groove.
Thanks Debston! Getting off the couch again was hard though!

Great that your operations are now complete Enxo. Are you now without glasses or do you still need them?
Great you managed to run and look forward to many more😊
Thanks! No - still need glasses for reading and driving at night/motorways, however I can now run in the rain without misting up!
