Hills AND intervals

This week I went out with my work running group as usual on Monday (I’m a bit behind with my update). Only two of us were brave enough given the light snowfall and icy wind! My running buddy said we should do a gentle run to the steepest hill in the village and sprint up. We did it by sprinting to the first lamppost then walking to the bottom and then sprinting to the second lamppost and so on until we’d sprinted all the way up the hill. It’s the first time I think I’ve done anything near a sprint since PE lessons at school 🙈 but the funny thing was when we did a gentle run to the top after the last sprint interval, it felt just as easy as running on flat ground! It was also really good to try something a bit different. Overall we covered just over 3 miles so I’m counting it as my 5k for this week, if a little unconventional.

Ooh I love the sound of that, I've a few really steep hills I've been avoiding- guess I'll try your method. Thanks for sharing

Wow well done! You must be getting really strong to manage that. So impressed - I notice every little slope!
