It’s probably been a good month and a half since I last posted, so hopefully I haven’t been totally forgotten!
I thought I should give a bit of a running update. Since I moved to London, changed jobs and moved in with my boyfriend, the running has.. well.. slipped. At first it was the excuse of “I don’t like running in the dark, and I leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark”. So I joined a gym, but the gym is a 30 min walk through a “less nice” part of my area so I still didn’t like going in the dark lol!
However last week I’ve re-found my motivation, signed up for a 10k in Jan AND a half marathon next September (which I think I’ll run for charity). I’ve joint a more expensive gym which is much closer (6 mins from my door, and on the way to the station) and I’ve decided to try and go three times a week, which, is a bit challenging with social and work commitments at the moment.
I’ve been doing some 20 min runs for stamina and then yesterday ran my first 5k in ages! Not the fastest at all, but I’m not a natural runner, asthmatic; and a little bit overweight so I’m pleased!
Forgot how happy I felt after a good longer run. Going to go and try a quick 3k this morning for my third run of the week (4K, 5k, 3k) and a little swim as I’m heading to my grandparents this weekend for their diamond wedding anniversary!
