First Junior Parkrun of the New Year

Grandsprocket was really looking forward to it, but then threw a hissy fit at the first corner and decided walking was the way to go.

It turns out that he’d decided he wanted to win today 🤦‍♀️ and that if he couldn’t he wasn’t going to try either. So... One Junior Parkrun walked - with a running game that the tail walkers and I finally got him to engage in right at the very end. On the plus side? The only way is up.

Dropped child home, grabbed Merlin and went for what turned out to be quite a drizzly and damp 6.5k recovery Run by the river.

Tomorrow night I lead a beginners’ Canicross session, in local woodland, that might actually end up just being me and one other person.

Oh dear so competitive so young, but there'll be plenty of opportunities for new pb's😉 glad you got your run in after

He’s not actually all that competitive, as a rule. I think maybe his older cousin has been doing the ‘I won! I won!’ thing over the Christmas holidays when they’ve been playing together.

My speed-reading scanning technique originally caused me to take in your para 3 as "Dropped child …. in …. the river", which seemed an entirely appropriate reaction to the morning's events :-)
