The Parkrun nextdoor

Decided to get up a little earlier than usual and play tourist today, having a go at my second nearest Parkrun - Mount Edgcumbe.

Should have known I didn't need to rush as they ran on Cornish time, which meant a 9am start is basically anytime before the clock strikes 10 🀣🀣.

An absolutely beautiful course, probably my most picturesque route to date, and one I'd recommend everyone try out if they get the opportunity, especially if the weather is as good as it was today - a gorgeous sunny red sky as the sun rose into the wintery cold sky. But be warned - this Parkrun starts with 2km of climbing! I knew there was a hill, but I wasn't prepared for it to go on for quite so long. Nevermind, I always try to look for the positives, so 2km of up must mean there's 2km of down and I wasn't disappointed.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their run today as much as I did, and if you haven't played Parkrun tourist yet, let me encourage you to do it. I love Parkrun, and I love my local one, but a change of scenery with the same friendly welcoming atmosphere sure is good fun.

Good one. 2km of up is a bit much for me though. Well done you.

I’m very impressed. I stuck to my southsea promenade today - elevation 10 feet over 5k πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I like the sound of that. I'm hoping to try Exmouth at some point this year which I imagine will be similar as it's route looks to be oit along the waterfront and back again

Ooo that looks fun B&R! Pretty similar to one of my locals, Ashton Court. You’re right, all that up means lots of down too - excellent! πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘
