So many of you loved my first parkrun report (some months ago now) I thought I would share my second parkrun report which I did today for Black Park parkrun as a tourist/visitor.

The Black Park team liked it so much, they’ve asked me if I’d like to do a follow up on New Year’s Day when I return back there. I am thrilled to be asked and ofcourse I said yes! All helps towards the volunteer credits and I love being a part of this community and being able to give back.

Oh how lovely - I used to visit Black Park as a child (before they charged for parking)... yes, I am that old! I grew up very near by and I have many happy memories of the place - going for lovely long walks and (watching) the new year tradition of jumping in the lake all dressed up... sometimes it was frozen!!!

How many years have they been doing park run there JaoJao?

So glad you had fun... and thanks for the nostalgic (for me) picture!

Primaballerina you should try it out if you get the chance. It’s a really nice course and it would be a trip down memory lane with a twist! I’ve just checked their history and they started parkrun in July 2009! 10 years! They started with some 60 parkrunners in the early weeks but these days they average around 600-700 parkrunners. It’s huge!

The other one close by is Upton Court, this is my home parkrun and it’s smaller, averages 180-200 parkrunners but is cosy in its own way and the course offers something very different. I recommend this one too!

This is my second run report and I think I enjoy writing pieces like this, just something else I have learnt along my running journey. I didn’t think writing was for me being scarred from my English A Level years but I spent some time putting this together after the parkrun this morning with care and attention. What’s really nice I suppose is when people read it and comment and something resonates with them. That’s a great feeling ❤️

Hey coddfish, thank you. Maybe give it a try if you are in proximity to it. Highly recommended 😊

Yes there must be a parkrun challenge to get colours 😀

There is an all weather parkrun badge. If you have done a parkrun every month of the year you get that one. So far I have done 6/6 months since I joined, only 6 more left.

Ooh I qualify for that then. We don’t use google chrome so I’m not aware of them all. I have printed a chart to play Parkrun bingo.

Do you have a desktop PC? It’s easy to download google chrome and then just search for the parkrun chrome extension. It’s a great online tool and you can simply bookmark it! I want to do the bushy pilgrimage challenge and also like my

Bingo card filling up and wouldn’t mind starting the Alphabet challenge too.

Great run report JaoJao, it makes me think I’d like to try that one day, I’ve noticed that many parkruns don’t do them. I looked up Black Park on the tourist tool from me, by mileage it’s No 46 on the list but only 45 mins round the M25 so I might think about it after reading your description:)

Ah that’s great if you are inspired to go. You can offer to submit a visitors report for any of the Parkruns you visit or you can offer to do one for your local, I am sure either way they would welcome it, mention it and see x
