Oisin and I ran at Griffeen parkrun this morning in Dublin collecting a G for our alphabet challenge. I also clocked a 12 for parkrun bingo ๐. Amazing what makes me happy these days. Oisin struggled a little today, but we got around in 29:12. It was my 67th parkrun and Oisinโs 29th. It was also my 17th different parkrun, just 3 more to go before Iโm honored with being an official parkrun tourist. Did I ever mention that Iโm a huge parkrun fan. Iโll be doing parkrun tourism for the next 5 weekends.

Damienair, you really should try to be a bit more enthusiastic about parkrun
I had a good one today, 140th parkrun, course pb (we have been at an alternative course to avoid the home run mud for the last 5 weeks) and a bingo.
Although we had intended to go to Southport or Kew Woods but the campsite was full. That was our third attempt - in December Geoff wasn't well, in January the weather wasn't very inviting. Maybe in March?
Oisin and I are doing the Compass Challenge, I was planning on doing Southport so as to get my South on the Compass. Would be great to arrange to meet up if your not too far from Southport. Iโm hoping to maybe do Southport in October. We did Eastville in Bristol last October. It was so lovely just having a Son and Dad weekend away. We also got to meet some running buddies from this forum. We will be flying over from Dublin.
We have done North Sydney and plan to do South Manchester and Southport because we live near Manchester. We couldn't make the Eastville meetup but plan to do that when we are visiting my brother sometime.
Let us know when you will be doing the southport one and we will try to meet you.
If the Giant's Causeway trip goes ahead in October we hope to make a trip of it and to bag at least one parkrun in Ireland
That was only a course pb, I have better ones at other parkruns
Congratulations to you and Oisin on completing 67/29 parkruns, I assume No. 10 in the foreground is Oisin, I just wonder how many parkruns young Oisin will have ran by the time he is his dad's age,? I have a long way to go, I ran my 15th today, first parkrun of 2020, you and Oisin are happy on getting a sub 30 minute 5k although you hope to get a sub 25 minute 5K this year, I wish you luck for that.
Thanks Alan. Yes thatโs Oisin proudly wearing his parkrun milestone 10 T-Shirt and he is 10 years old. My normal parkrun finish time at the moment is 27 to 28 minutes. So I have a good 2-3 minutes to shave off. But I got to 25:36 last August, I have some hard work and painful runs ahead of me.
Shame you donโt enjoy your Saturday mornings much Damien! ๐ ๐คช
Brilliant run for you both. Tell Oisin that his โnot feeling itโ time is absolutely awesome! Heโs an amazing little runner! ๐๐๐๐ Tell him too that Flossie had fun yesterday morning as we volunteered at Eastville and she had lots of stick throwing friends! She also rolled in the mud and had a fantastic time - sheโd like to see him again one day. ๐๐
Oisin is looking forward to meeting up with Flossie again some time. There was a very strong wind yesterday. Storm Ciara was on its way, thankfully the parkrun weather fairies ๐งโโ๏ธ kept it at bay. I think Oisin struggled to breath properly when running into the head wind.
But we got around, and Iโll take a sub 30 minute 5K any day.
I just love spending the time together. Itโs a lovely healthy activity which builds experience and confidence for a young little man. Oisin likes it too.๐
