First run for a while

Sun=run. Sunny here today. Went out to see what I could do. Thought I was going to expire after 3 mins, 2km and 4km, but seeing as I survived I went on to do 8km. Runkeeper said I was only seconds off my best time for this distance, although I felt worse than before my break from running. Very heavy legs. Think I filled them with too much food over the festive period.

So glad my basic level of fitness is still there though.

So for 2020 I would like to run the Monsal Trail and possibly run the lights in Blackpool which is August. Anyone up for either of these? I'm always happy to run canal towpaths too, so if you'd like company for towpath running let me know.

Happy new year everyone.

Hello Baddie, well done for your post Christmas run. All that food and drink has done me no good too. Still, only once a year. I looked at the Monsal trail 10k at the weekend and it says it’s sold out. ☹️ So check out the Blackpool lights run sooner rather than later.

Happy new year to you.

Hi Dexy, I don't intend to do the organised race on the Monsal Trail. Maybe we should have a VRB Monsal Trail run. But you're right about signing up for running the lights. I just hate to be tied to dates too far ahead of time. How can I possibly know what I'm going to be doing in Aug!

I’m a bit like that too - but I entered the vitality 10000 at the end of May, thinking that’s One I definitely want to do.

I’d prefer just to meet and run rather than a real race

Well done BTP, a good start to 2020.

We went to Street parkrun, which they claimed was muddy. Well it was sticky but not as wet or deep as Marple (it is some time since I lived down here and I had forgotten the constituency of Somerset mud)

A few of us (VRB's and friends) are going to South Manchester on Saturday if you want to join us.

That sounds like a good idea, I'll bare it in mind. (Is that the right sort of bear?)

Great effort, enjoy your planned runs this year, I’m doing a virtual NC500 over the course of 2020, luckily only 10k of it will be on the actual very busy tourist route. Happy new year

I’d definitely be interested in Blackpool Lights - I ran Bispham to Central Pier on Monday trying to keep up with my son on his scooter. It was great - I really enjoyed it. It would be a fantastic to go all the way and see the lights. I’d probably be up for the Monsall Trail too - Keep me posted

Hi, I'd be up for the monsal trail, I've only ever walked parts of it. I guess I'd need to get some trail shoes first.😂 I'd also be interested in Blackpool 10k or the southport. I'm hoping to be up for the Liverpool half at the end of May and possibly do the aintree 10k on 1st Feb. I was considering 10k at Tatton Park, but cant make 12th Jan.

I've done a 5k and 10k since 20th December and starting to recover from Christmas. Happy running 😊🏃‍♀️
