I graduated C25K about 3 weeks ago.Not running 5K yet, but working towards it. Anyway, Mr. Getfitatlast entered me into the Great Manchester Run on May 24th as a Christmas present, and I don't really know what to do next! I thought a month or so of consolidation runs, then start the Bridge to 10K or do I do JuJu's running plan or are then the same thing? Hope everyone's had a good Christmas. Nice to see some of the same names as C25K.

Hi congratulations on finishing C25K and welcome to the bridge 😊
There are numerous plans you could follow to get to 10k, Juju's is one of those.
I'm sure a new cohort are due to start very soon, so either look out for the post or you can find the pinned post and start now. Joining the latest cohort is more akin to the c25k experience as you are all going through it together. Roseabi normally takes charge so follow her.
I would recommend doing the timed version of juju's plan first. Then perhaps redo it using the distance version. I didn't run my 1st 5k until wk4 or 5 of the plan.
If you haven't come across it already check out Nike Run Club. They havesome great guided runs that will help when doing the longer times/distance.
That is a lovely Christmas present you got from Mr Getfitatlast, a entry to the Great Manchester Run, its a 10K, plenty of time to train, you could do the Bridge 210K podcasts or Ju Ju Magic 10K plan, perhaps the latter would be best, its up to you to decide. I hope you had a great Christmas and are now looking forward to the New Year.
Great present and plenty time to prepare. I found 5 - 10 quicker than c25k. As already said juju has both timed and distance- have a look at the plans and see which you prefer, rgey have a mix of short and long runs so your 1st few weeks are doing less total running than you were doing at the end of c25k. Good luck and happy running
Nice present. You’ve loads of time to prepare. Start once your up to 5K doing 3 x 5K runs per week. Then pick one of those runs and use it as your long run each week. Then each week add 500 meters onto the long run. That’s all I did and it worked perfectly.
I don’t know your age / fitness level or how far you can run in 30 minutes. If you haven’t yet run 5k, the first thing is to build up your time until you can comfortably run that distance. After that, follow any plan that adds distance or time to your long run. If you are in a similar age group to me (I am 60s), you may need to be careful about your running load. I find if I am doing a a long run of over 60 minutes, I can only manage 1 other run in the week. But it does take me 90 minutes to do 10k. Don’t be afraid of using run/walk to increase your distance. Blocks of 15 minutes running / 2 minutes walking work well for me. Good luck
I really enjoyed using the timed version of Ju-Ju’s Magic plan to build up strength as well as running time safely. Then I went back and picked up the distance version part way in to then finish off 10k. There’s useful stuff about strength building too, and a motivating chart you can print out.
And if you have a secret method of limiting the daytime rainfall, that would be helpful too. 🤣🤣 The training is fun. Enjoy! 🎉
