Windy Day

I planned for a shorter one this morning to try to go a little bit faster than a snail, but that plan went straight out the window almost as soon as I left the front door. This must be the first time Iโ€™ve had wind battering straight into my face - boy, does that make running hard ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Oh well, Iโ€™ll take 3.5K even if it was slower than my already slow usual! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Oh yes, wind is hard work isnโ€™t it NewRunner? Still, you ran and quite possibly worked harder running your 3.5k in the wind than 5k on a calm day, so good for you! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

It certainly felt harder!

Great effort in that wind. I e been aware of doors banging all night, a real gale out there. Call it a 3.5k resistance training run. The ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeah, I hadnโ€™t realised it was so windy until I was out in it. All part of the experience!

You did very well on your 3.5k run despite the wind, like cycling, running against the wind is hard, I ran a 5K yesterday around a loch nearby to where I live, it was hard against the wind, not so bad when the wind was was "pushing me along." at the other side. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพ

Good job on your windy 5K yesterday. Iโ€™m not sure I felt any benefit this morning of getting pushed along - felt more like the wind was constantly in my face regardless of what direction I was going ๐Ÿ˜‚

It was a South westerly wind that I was running against, once I got to a certain part of the route, I was running in a

north westerly direction, then turned right, that meant that I was running in a north easterly direction with the wind behind me.

You may have thought you were going slower but I bet you worked harder. Runnung in a strong wind to me is like resistance training. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

It sure was. Oh well, another type of weather under my running belt!

Oh, that happened to me once, lazy me tried to go with the wind direction, but it was worse it was much faster than me, so instead of helping I was going to trip... Well done, 3.5 km under the circumstances is a great run :)

๐Ÿ˜‚Whoโ€™d have thought wind would cause problems either battling into it or being โ€œhelpedโ€ by it.

Absolutely NewRunner4 ...you def should take that...the wind can be unforgiving sometimes, and it's like someone's got their hand on your forehead making it a real battle so firstly well done for even going out in that wind and secondly, well done on the distance you achieved ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks Mummycav, thatโ€™s exactly what it felt like. Iโ€™m sure I was running on the spot at one point ๐Ÿ˜‚ Luckily I was already outside before I realised how windy it was, otherwise I may not have gone. Iโ€™m glad I did it, but definitely not my most enjoyable. Bring back the cold, crisp mornings thank you very much!

Well done, a bit of a workout for you! When it's really windy, it's not much fun and I do worry about trees coming down so avoid my usual route in the woods.

Thanks, it was a work out and I can definitely feel it in my legs way more than after the recent 10K. Thankfully I donโ€™t have too many trees to worry about as these dark winter runs are all pretty much on main roads so that itโ€™s well lit.

Hey, please dont worry about your pace.... you went for a run, you battled against the wind, you returned home... all big ticks in my book. Consistency is the key.

Thanks very much. Iโ€™m happy enough I did some running as it means I can stick to my plan to go for another run on Saturday ๐Ÿ˜€
