A few weeks ago I posted about running parkrun with my 9-year-old.
Yesterday, he took another chunk off his PB running with me to 28.29. This is only just over a minute slower than my own PB! It now seems only a matter of weeks until i'm going to be eating his dust.

I console myself with the fact that if I can keep with him till he reaches 11, I will have seriously improved as a runner. Then, in the years following this, he can get the coffees in while he waits for his old man.
I was at a parkrun yesterday and I would swear that there was a 9 or 10 year old boy running himself who LAPPED me on the second round, perhaps he was with his dad but he could not go at the pace of his son. 😊
My 12 year old son always has to wait for me at the finish line. He zooms off and leaves me to plod round. I dream of one day getting to the finish line first! 😂
