Fully prepared for this one!

So tonight is my long run- first one in a few weeks for various reasons. The fabulous Olympic Park awaits.

I packed my running gear this morning and thought i would be good to go but no...the wind chill here today is unreal! Goes straight to the bones 🥶 I know how windy the park gets too so off to Sports Direct i go, a mere £36 spent and i am equipped with some lovely karrimor thermal tights, gloves and headband. The long tights i had packed are really thin and old and i figured red raw legs was not on the plan today. Delighted with the gloves - hope i don't need to take them off as my hands normally get too hot - but that was with normal wool gloves so we will see. and headband is essential to keep my ears warm and headphones in place and out of wind - my current one is in the washing machine (didn't plan that very well)...look at me justifying my spending 😂 the run tights i wanted were £50 so i have definitely been shopper savvy here.

The gremlins don't stand a chance tonight!

I'll let you know how they all fared tomorrow and if i managed the distance.

Thanks Cheeky - it was a great run, gloves had to come off because my hands were so hot - i managed til 3k and then i could take no more. The tights were fab - did exactly what they needed to do - highly recommended

I was a parkrun tourist in your neck of the woods last week alisonx at Hackney Marshes. My daughter lives nearby so I visit quite often. Hope the run went well. I’m at the end of week 2 of the magic plan and I’ve shelled out for an amazing proviz jacket which lights me up like a glow-worm along country lanes, and a pair of fleecy long tights too! That little lit set me back over £100 so I’ve got to keep up this running 🏃‍♀️ now! 😉

Its a good incentive when you have spent the money and the jacket sounds fab

I loving running round Hackney marshes, my little girl and i do a route every saturday morning while my son plays football.
