Run 2, 2.5km ✅

I'd been thinking about upping my pace for the short run today but rain yesterday had made my regular run through the woods even boggier so I had no choice but to slow down and pick my way through the worst bits. Maybe I need to learn to love running on pavements instead! There were also quite a few dog walkers this morning and I really didn't want to fall over in front of an audience 😂 Planning to do run 3 at Parkrun on Saturday. Happy running everyone. 👟

Your faster pace will wait . We don't want you hurting yourself. 😊😊

Great effort through mud I've run on grass instead of pavements for last couple of runs to go gently on a knee niggle, pace goes right down. So I would think if you tried a run on pavement your speed may go up without any extra effort, but it is harder on joints. I've done all bar these last 2 on pavement starting 8th August and first niggle was last week. Good luck

I hardly ever run on pavements for exactly that reason.

I love a run through the woods. Still feel too visible on pavement, even though no one is interested 🙃 - Weather just makes it impossible. We’ve had floods so every run is a slow , sludge covered mess ! By the way are the park runs the next step after c25k? Not sure what happens next ( long way off only just done w6r2 )

You can do Parkrun after graduation (they are all a 5km route) or you can go along and do your C25K thing. Lots of people walk bits of my local Parkrun, there's no shame in it. And there are tailwalkers bringing up the rear so you'll never come last!

I wouldn’t worry about out and out pace... any mud would be giving the calves a harder workout already, building the strength more, and from strength comes speed.

Great job.

Thanks, UnfitNoMore - I hadn't thought of that! My calves are pleasantly achey now. ☺

Mud running, that’s got to be tough. Good job and enjoy your Park Run on Saturday 😀

Yeah, I'm finding the dark, rain and slippy leaves are slowing me right down. Hard to get in a speedy run in these circumstances but hey, we're still running and loving it right! 😀

Enjoy your Parkrun 👍🏃‍♀️
