I never really thought I’d ever run 10k (tbf I didn’t think I’d get to 5!!) and although I always knew I had stamina, at 63 I’d never (ever) run. I set off in April last year and today I ran 10k. 😉😱😳🤗 I’ve now matched my 2 daughters (in distance - not time) so I’ve begged them to go no further 🤣. Excuse me - I’m off to get a new, shiny and very unexpected badge. Thank you friends for inspiring me to do any/all of this. Time was 1:17:13 so I’ve found my inner slow. Happy days.
I’ve crossed the bridge!! : I never really... - Bridge to 10K
I’ve crossed the bridge!!
Congratulations! You never know, your daughters may take this as inspiration to sign up for a HM 🤣🤣
Happy running.
They’d better not!! Didn’t think I was competitive but fear I might be !! 🤣
Good job I don’t know them then 😈. At the moment 10k is my favourite distance though, it fits into my day pretty well.
Wooooh hooo Sybilw!! 💥💥🤩🙌🏽! Massive congratulations to you! ❤️
Well done Sybil! Brilliant effort and not at all slow either. Enjoy your lovely badge - you’ve earned it! 🏅
🎉👏🏼🎉 Well done & congratulations! Enjoy that shiny new badge. 😄👍
Yay! That's brilliant. If you are slow I'm the same slow as you!
That is impressive I m 52 never thought I could either. I’m aiming to to do ten down. Loded ju ju. Plan Half marathon in Oct xx
Wow that’s amazing, we are the same age i started running in May/June and can run very slowly for just over 5k now you are an inspiration thank you
Oh that’s scary and flattering in equal measure. I’ll be 65 next month so anything is possible it seems. If you’d told me this when I left school in 1975 I’d have laughed. Running? ME???!!! Good luck with your runs.
Wonderful post Sybil! Congratulations on your first 10k - I bet your daughters are so proud!👍🏃🏽♀️💪👏👏🙂
Congratulations on your 10k. You should be so pleased and proud 😊😊👏👏
That’s great Sybilw, you must be feeling chuffed! We 60 somethings have got this!
Congratulations that seems to me a very respectable time. Go celebrate and enjoy your bling.
Congratulations! That 10k achievement is out of this world! I am thrilled for you, keep going.
Well done to you! The badge looks fantastic! Congratulations!
🎓🍾🥂🏅🏃♀️🤸♂️🏃♀️🤸♂️🏃♀️🤸♂️👏🏻👍🌟 💥⚡️🎉😊
Thank you. I’ll put it on every day!
I'm 63 as well! A good age! I let my running slip and am now working my way back up distance wise, currently at 7 km. What are you next running plans?
Congratulations Sybilw, you do deserve that shiny 10k badge. 20k graduation is so special and you’ve worked hard for it. 🥂🏃♀️👏👏
Edit: I’ve just realised you did it in 77 minutes. You’ve just joined an elite club: I did my 1st and 2nd 10k In 77 mins and so did Oldfloss .
Well done Sybilw! A good time too. Deserves a celebration 🎉🍰🥂🍾
Well done Sybil! Revel in your achievement !👍🎉😀
That is brilliant! congratulations! I did the magic plan for time earlier this year, having started C25k in January, and am now very slowly working my way through again trying to run the distances. I have had a bit of a hold up over recent weeks with a sore hip but really hope to get back out again this week. I am 65 and like you have never been a runner so it a bit of a surprise to find that I am still going!
This plan is nothing short of miraculous! I’ve been lucky with only a sore foot early on (bought proper shoes!). Hope your hip lets you get back out soon. Can’t keep an 👵🏻 down!! My 65th is next month - how is it up there?
Well to be honest I think this is one of the best times of my life. I have lost the tyranny of work (and I loved my job so that's a surprise). And I feel I have all the delights of family in the form of adult children and grandchildren but without the relentless demands of small children. The downside is a bit of physical decrepitude but I'm fighting back!
Yaaay. Congratulations!! Well done u
Congratulations Sybilw😊...brilliant acheivement and lovely looking badge!👌👏👏😊xx
