Can’t believe this was my first 10k of the year... though I have been flirting with it a while now! 10k was 1:06 and some seconds, beating my fastest on Garmin by a minute, and just 15 to knock off to break my PB 🤣🤣
This is just week 3 of the Garmin HM plan with a goal of 2 hours. I was on 2:15 pace until I twisted my ankle in my HM last November during mile 9 and ran walked the last quarter of it, so I’m a little surprised to see the coach’s confidence in me is so high. My confidence is a little lower 🤣 but I don’t really care too much, I just want to run all of it this time around. His definition of “easy run” differs from mine too... but I’m looking forward to Thursday’s run nonetheless.

Thanks... only thing driving me mad with the plan is my step goal is getting ridiculous already, 15000 today (19000 done) so tomorrow it’ll be near 16k and I have no run!
I’m gonna go keep OldFloss company on Monsal trail in October... I might sign up for Tatton again in November as it’s only a week or two later, but as things are I’m reluctant to sign up to an event where there will be a crowded start area... once the run starts I don’t have any issue distancing from quick runners 🤣🤣🤣
I’m signed up for the inaugural Beachy Head HM in October, because I’ve really enjoyed doing the 10k there. Really hoping it can be held. The start there is only the width of the road, but the initial hill soon thins people out.
I've been using the garmin step challenge for a while now . I've to get about 15 - 16 thousand steps per day which is really easy on a run day . On a non run day Buddy ( my Jack Russell ) gets extra longer walks 🐕🐕
That was a very good run and time for you UNM, a goal of 2 hours for a half marathon would be some achievement if you could run it in that time.
As you know I am doing your quest for July on going to run just over 16K /10 miles by the end of the month, tomorrow I will be running 13.1K which is a Metric Half Marathon, there is a badge for running a Metric Marathon but I don't think there is one for a Metric HM.
Update UNM, 10 am, Wednesday 15/7, St Swithin's Day and it did rain just before I ran.
Just back from my longest run ever, a 13K, on part of your quest to run 16K, 10 miles by the end of July, the rain went off just before I started my run at ten past seven, my average pace was 7.41Km, I burned 943 calories, the most ever for a run and I completed the 13K run in 1 hour, 39 minutes and 38 seconds according to MapMyRun, so a good run, next week 14K and in two weeks a little over 16K to make up the ten miles.
Wednesday 22 July, I have just come back from running your quest for mle to run 10 miles by the end of the month, to be exact, 16.18km on Mapmyrun, there is another post elsewhere with more details. 😊 🏃🏾
congratulations on your first 10k of the year and a pb. 2 hours for a HM would be amazing . My first HM in May was 2.26. Good luck with the rest of the plan😊👍
Trying to resist changing the goal... next week will be my first taste of faster than race pace for any significant time so I’ll have a better idea then.
Thanks. I was gonna get a film crew in and call it Breaking 2, but apparently someone has done it before... and further 🤣 This crazy thought though has given me drive... not long ago my goal was to not be lapped at parkrun, so to be half as fast as the local club runners... now my goal is to be half as fast as the best distance runner in the world... think I’ll stop there though!
