There was water...plenty of it, there were puddles, plenty of them...there was leaves, of the soggy, slippy kind, plenty of them, there was darkness, plenty of it coz I forgot my flippin lights (!)...there was wind, and I wasn't in Kansas....there was traffic, that I ran passed, there was heavy breathing, because I'd forgotten my inhaler, there was determination, because that's what I am made of...
I have been in my running gear all day waiting for this persistent rain to persist off...but it was showing no signs of doing one so i saw a window of opportunity when my daughter was with her tutor...it was now 5.15pm and it was now or never...so i got out of the car...half prepared and i could've had a right kerfuffle if I'd have put any thought into it..so i didnt, I just did it...hooked my headphones over my ears,got my workout up on my watch and set off into the dark...what am I like?? Preaching about lights etc and then not using any myself?? But this was a spontaneous, desperate window of opportunity...and it just goes to show that us runners will just go, no matter what..and they're some of the better runs...not really planned but just snatched...so that's my w4r3 of Jeff's 10K plan done...bring on the next...hopefully better prepared for!!! I feel like I've run through a car wash!!!

Thanks Fabulous450 ....there was all sorts kept cropping up yesterday to halt my idea of going for my run...but i was either sitting and waiting or getting out of the car and facing the car wash weather! I felt so much better for it afterwards! Have a good day chick xx
Ah you can tell! It was lovely reading your post! So much so I’ve just come back from my first fun since a few days on pause to strengthen and get some more flex back in my tight hamstring! It was cold out there, but I loved it! Maybe I’ll take the weekend off now and go back again on Monday. Gives me time for my body to tell me how it really went 😂! ❤️
Yep, if we wait for the "ideal" window, it never happens. I'm watching the best of the weather with a level of frustration... but there's improvements, so there's hope.

That's right GoGo_JoJo I kept looking out of the window inbetween jobs thinking"shall I go now?" And then the rain and wind would just get a little bit harder and faster so I had no choice but to take the bull by the horns and just go. This morning is a completely different day!! X
I got outside, did some chores in the car, left my car for MOT, did a tiny little test run but soon slowed up, wrong shoes and no way I want to set my progress back but I did stop at the rec ground outdoor gym for 10 mins before heading home for lunch/ wait for car. I'm looking forward to the stroll to go and fetch it as at least I'm not limping anymore 👍🏻😁

When I went to fetch car it needed more work so got to leave it there and walk back again. 😁 I wasn't disappointed, lovely sunset. Definitely going the right way 🤞🏻
Oh good on you mummcav! After waiting all day you did it - many would have given up, and most importantly despite not having lights, etc and a good soaking you enjoyed it...can't ask for more than that! what a trooper x
Thank you alisonx ...I did think about what everyone would say on here if I reported that I had no lights but it just goes to show that when you've got to go, you've got to go!!!
😱 don't tell anyone but i have never ran with lights - last winter i stuck to well lit roads and relied on reflective clothing. I have bought a running light this year so i can do off road running in the dark mornings...i'm trying to not draw to much attention to myself 😄
I know Run46 what am I like?!! I wouldn't have gone without lights if I'd have been anywhere but the main road because I would've been scared!!! Kudos to you for going through the car wash too, last night was horrendous here, flooding everywhere!! It could easily have ended up as a swim!! 🤣
