Hats off (in the wind no doubt) to all hardy parkrunners.

Just wanted to say well done to all those who decided (last night I’m guessing) that parkrun would be a good idea this morning! 💨 🌧 🌬 🥶. Ours was summed up as ‘adverse conditions’. It’s muddy as soon as there’s any rain and everyone came back with a wet side and a dry side! I was just marshalling and should have been able to watch the second half of the rugby 😢 but only saw the last quarter as I couldn’t peel myself out of the shower. #parkrunnersareamazing

Amazingly the reverse in Ireland this morning. Flat calm, blue sky, a little warmth in the Sun. Had a lovely parkrun and got home in time to watch the second half of the match. Hard luck to England.

As a Scot I can also commiserate! I’ve just about warmed up.

Well done on volunteering Sybilw. Ours was cancelled at the last minute so volunteers made their way down to be turned away. It would have been too dangerous down here.

I was thinking yours might be cancelled. Ours is round fields so quite exposed but no danger (other than the mud!!).

Last night weather app showed rain and very windy. Luckily no rain and strongish breeze only - also with Sewerby it was against wind first k then behind you along cliff side! A little muddy and greasy but so glad I got out of bed!!!

We were very lucky in Lincolnshire. Sunny with a moderate breeze at 9.00am so a lovely parkrun day. The rain started just after I got home, in time to watch the 2nd half!

Some of our hardy lot did 2 runs this morning as the local running club have a run on the first Saturday of the month and planned theirs for 8am this time (rugby related I assume). All I can say is that their first run was drier!!

Ours was on, but it was very squally and wet for the most part. I volunteered today - shame because only just over 200 turned up so I would have achieved my highest finishers place at our PR! 🙄😅

Me too! I’ve got as high as 80th but would have smashed that today!! Ours is a relatively small parkrun. However it was bad enough just standing still today . . . .

Ours is usually 500+ so I’d have smashed mine too! And I agree about being tough standing around in the wind - mighty hard work. 😩

Only 84 at ours.

Well done marshalling in those conditions

Thanks. They sent out an appeal as were worried about the rugby clash. Very low numbers this week - not sure if it was 🌧💨 or 🏉!

Just Marshalling! Without the likes of you, we couldn’t go out in adverse weather conditions. Thank you.💋💋

Got lots of love from the runners. A warm hugs wouldn’t have gone amiss! 🤣

Three of us were put off by our local Parkrun as the river tow-path was VERY muddy, so said we'd go to the next nearest (field circuits and tarmac). However, on the morning the weather forecast was dire - heavy rain and high winds, so we cancelled at the last minute.

So about 3 this afternoon I'm heading to a local park to do my 5km, as it's calmed down a bit.

One of these days I must try running in foul weather, but as I'm quite inexperienced at the moment I prefer to play it safe for now.

Yes very much better safe than sorry. Hope it went well. You can be braver in better weather ( I’ve fallen twice and couldn’t even blame the weather! 😆)

Alas - heavy rain at 3pm put the kibosh on that plan. Tomorrow looks more promising!

There’s always tomorrow - just beware it might be slippery!

Good gravelled paths in this park.

Well done for marshalling too!🤗 It was absolutely throwing it down here. It wasn’t a run day for me, although I’d go for my run if it was, I don’t think I would have taken on Parkrun today. They do deserve a very big cheer!🤩 I watched the rugby! 😥! I’m just going to curl up with a book and a blanket now. 😁❤️

Definitely a day to choose your time to run very carefully!

Well done everyone that braved it out today! It was touch and go there for a while whether parkrun would be on or not!
