OVER INDULGENCE IS THE ROOT TO NO RUNNING....

I had high hopes for my Magic W2 15 minute run. Was going to get up this morning and run as fast as I could, comfortably. Only trouble is I over indulged slightly last night and was absolutely no good to man or beast this morning. I told myself I'll just run tomorrow instead and went about my day. Then I thought NO! no copping out (lesson from Rigpig) so that's me- nailed it. Surprisingly I didn't do too badly even though I felt absolutely done in. Managed 2.6 km in 15.23. Hard, hard, hard. So tonight....light the fire, a light meal, some easy watching of a murder mystery and then bed. Boy am I looking forward to my bed!

I won't be doing that again! 😉 🤣

I actually did exactly the same yesterday and felt fragile for most of the day. About 8pm I decided to go and do my 39 minute run. I had a terrible argument with myself during the toxic ten (It’s a wonder I’m still talking to me this morning!) but then settled in to it and very slowly managed to finish. I felt like a million dollars when I got home and slept like a baby all night. So that’s 2 evening runs in the last week which is OK I suppose and better than not running but it doesn’t quite feel right 😊

I'm so glad I'm not the only one 😳 I haven't been drinking very much at all lately - trying to clean up my act - so consequently a little went a long way last night! I'm not surprised you felt great after a 39 minute run with a hangover! 15 minutes was enough for me. I'm sooo glad I left my shortest run until last. Onwards and upwards! Have a happy Magic Running week 👍

I’m exactly the same, I have stopped reaching for a beer after work and have taken up Green Tea (much to the bemusement of those who know me) so on Friday night I had a few drinks which were, by normal standards, quite modest. Seems a bit unfair given the ensuing hangover. But we live and learn 🙄

You may not have felt like running but you got yourself out there. It's good to over indulge sometimes🤣

Enjoy your evening and your bed🛌

Well done on talking yourself into getting out there...you may have been shattered when you got back but I bet the fresh air blew the cobwebs away a little! 🌬👍

I bet most of us are lightweights these days...I mean you plan to not drink the day before a run, then are shattered so don't often on the night of a run which at 3 runs a week leaves a very small window of opportunity. 😆 Mine is Friday night and sometimes I have a glass of wine even if I don't really fancy it, on principle!!!

What has this running lark done to us 😉

Yes, you're right Run46 I did actually feel better! Perhaps I'd sweat all the alcohol out 🤣 I have just been trying not to drink during the week which has been working pretty well - I'll need to watch myself next time! Yes, I've also been known to have one just because it's Friday and I can!

🤣😂 we did Dry January so February has seen the odd blow out to compensate! But 2.6K the day after the night before is something to be proud of!!

Thanks Dalmorangie! I was away for New Year - didn't get back until well into January otherwise I might have had a go at that. I suspect your running times improved greatly in January then?
