Nailed it today !

I had a disastrous run a week ago. I actually stopped running which is a first since taking C25K up, I think it was down to work fatigue. So I had a few days off running and headed back out there on Wednesday and today. Totally nailed my 5km on both days, which I am absolutely elated about.

Cherish the good days, forget the bad ones - they happen to everyone now and again 🙁

Personally, if a run starts really badly, I’m happy to quit and wait for tomorrow. It’s all supposed to be fun, isn’t it?

Fantastic effort. Hold that wonderful feeling. Its difficult to balance work and runs but hopefully you will feel better after the run and ready for more work. Be kind to yourself, there is only one of you, you can't do everything

Stopping running for a wee while at times is the right thing to do. And our bodies appreciate it. As long as you get back to it, all is good 🙂

Well done on your run Mark - a short running break can really help revive us sometimes. Hope that work has settled down a little for you now, too.🙂👍

Good you took a few days rest and went out on fresh legs, well done, those bad runs just happen sometimes for no reason but we all get better runs to help us forget them

Nice one (well, 2) those runs soon outshine the ones that suck. I’ve switched which run I’m doing a few time when starting my long run has pointed to a horrible one.

They certainly do. Mentally I thought I had peaked and that was me finished. At 50 had I just conquered running as it was a challenge ? Trained to run for 30 mins and gradually built it up for 5km. And now having done that was it the motivation or passion to keep it up ? The mind is a powerful weapon in our armour so I spent a couple of days just resting before going out again that did me the world of good. 👍

It happens! Last week I did a run after a night shift, something I stopped doing during C25K because I came to the conclusion they didn’t agree with me as they always seemed the hardest runs. I set out to do a 10K and stopped after 5K. That run according to my Run Keeper was my 29th fastest 2 to 4mile run! On Saturday I ran a sub 30 Park Run my 5th fastest. Needless to say I’m abandoning the idea of scheduling runs after night shifts again!

Oh god ! I swap off my rostered night shifts now a days, I never did sleep well during the day and would take me a week to get back to some sort of normality. Well done on your park run !
